Turkey's unmanned helicopter Alpin is armed
Turkey's unmanned helicopter Alpin, which undertakes critical tasks in the fight against forest fires, is preparing for military missions. Heavy weapons such as missiles or rockets will be integrated into Alpin, which will carry the burden of the military.

Alpin, an unmanned helicopter preparing to take to the field for military logistics missions this year, will also be equipped with weapon systems such as missiles and rockets with its high payload capacity.
Titra Teknoloji General Manager Davut Yılmaz made a statement to AA correspondent about the Alpin unmanned helicopter project at the SEDEC event at ATO Congresium, where Anadolu Agency is the Global Communications Partner.
Yılmaz said that they removed the parts that are not necessary for them in a manned helicopter, added the software and systems and turned the vehicle into an unmanned one.
Emphasizing that they aim to make this transformation more strategic, Yılmaz stated that they also have the opportunity to transform larger or smaller helicopters. Yılmaz said,
"It is a much faster, more efficient and cost-effective solution than building a helicopter from scratch. We set out with this need. We have come to these days by increasing the rate of domesticity almost every day. We have increased its range, carrying capacity and useful load options. There is an Alpine whose share is much greater." said.
Yılmaz stated that their primary use targets are military or civilian logistics, and stated that they plan to use Alpin for reconnaissance, surveillance and intelligence purposes.
Will bear the burden of the soldier
Stating that Alpin flew in Manavgat and Çanakkale during the forest fires last year, Yılmaz said,
"This was a civilian mission. We are preparing for military missions this year. We have a military plan, our process will begin soon. A military transportation and logistics plan in the eastern region will begin." It looks like we will start the task. It is not a target for us to enter the inventory. Because there are different stakeholders in this business. Therefore, it is not possible to give a calendar. Our goal is to enter the inventory within this year. Stakeholders will be in line with the calendar and approval of our Defense Industry Presidency and related force units." he said.
"To be seen in many countries in 2023"
Yılmaz stated that they received invitations from two European and NATO countries to participate in the tests and tenders, and that they will start demo flights in August.
Expressing that there is a very serious demand from the Middle East and African countries, Yılmaz said that it will be possible to see Alpin in many parts of the world, especially next year.
Noting that they do not plan to use Alpin as a herd, but they plan to integrate the herd system with Alpin, Yılmaz made the following assessments:
"There are certain issues and other projects we are working on, related to UAVs. At the heart of these are swarm systems. We plan to integrate and use them in Alpin. Beyond the priority of military and civilian logistics, especially a number of missiles and rockets, as their carrying capacity is very high. We aim to integrate and use systems such as. This is our second priority on the Alpine side. There will be different variations of this. It will not only be systems such as weapons and ammunition, but also different carrying options, systems, payloads. Both complex systems with a number of heavily loaded sensors and intelligence. "There will be other systems for civilian purposes. We have planned most of these, we have tested some of them. In 2023, you will see Alpin doing very different things."
will be armed in 2023
Pointing out that Alpin has advantages over fixed-wing UAVs in certain areas, as it can fly under the cloud, Yılmaz said:
"We want to use Alpin's high carrying capacity. We do not plan to integrate weapons such as classic machine guns. Our approach there is a little different. Maybe we can consider integrating different types of heavy weapons, but on the weapons side, our priority is weapons such as missiles or rockets. This will take place in 2023. Our priority this year is military logistics. If we do this, we will be the first company in the world to do this job, and our army will be the first."
