Well the beauty of unmanned system's is that you don't need armor because there's no people inside it. If we were to add armor it would just increase the weight and thus it would require more power. This could easily quadruple costs and even then, what's the point? The optics on the RCWS probably costs more than everything else and adding armor to it would NOT protect the optics.

Who cares if one of these get destroyed? It's just a machine.

rpg is cheaper.

If they move fast enough and make unpredictable maneuvers it could be difficult to shot it down but one of the ideas of swarm is if one falls the others to continue.
