Turkish Train Projects

Are you stupid? Its pretty clear what we are comparing and its not the lenght of train tracks.
Please enlighten me. Even if you are comparing technology. Then bro, the russians are way ahead. You cant match them, actually no one can.

Again a gem from Turkish journalism, its not a invention from Turkish engineers, its just simple superconductor magnets. :disagree:

Yeah I know I saw it on the internet. lmao. But they said TUBITAk will look into it.

ASELSAN: We are ready for Domestic High Speed Train(also other kind of trains) & Domestic Airliner projects...

I find it troublesome that ASELSAN is stretching itself over so many fields. Perhaps it would be better to split up the company to smaller fragments. I just want to point out that Karamehmet went bankrupt with his defense production line. And the government sold it off to someone else. (if I recall correctly).

I seriously hope we can avoid stuff like that in the future. I don't want out defense companies to stretch themselves to every field before mastering one field.

It would make more sense that Aselsan supported a domestic train/railway company with development.

That's not a problem, bro.

Look at Lockheed martin's field of expertise.

Defense products, and if it's not defense it's R&D. Perhaps Aselsan is thinking of providing R&D for trains, but I can't see atm how working with trains are related to defense or beneficial to Aselsan.

Unless they are working towards a unmanned Train system armed with missiles for the "silk road" vision.

Aselsan isnt solely a defence company, they also produce solutions for civilian market, why shouldnt it be benefical for them?

Like I said, I can't see how they will benefit from train projects, but if you know better please enlighten me.

All I'm saying is I hope they will use their knowledge and knowhow on fields that will benefit 100% and not 20%.

your example about 4G fits with Aselsans R&D field = Communication.

They will benefit from train projects by taking major place in auto-control systems of the train as you know mechanical devices obtain too many subsystems related to electronics . Engine has itself control systems, other parts also do.

It shouldnt be something armed and unmanned to benefit aselsan, its just unarmed and manned with too many control systems inside. The parts used by human on a train is more like seen side of iceberg . Majority is automated still.

This also will help aselsan to broaden their vision, working with more multi disciplinar projects.

Thanks for that pov, it's more constructive and informative than the previous responses i got.

Your point is well taken, and it makes sense that Aselsan supports the "train" industry with their knowhow, but it won't replace a train driver, due to the accidents in the past.

A quick look at wiki gave me some info and one I found interesting is that korean Rotem is involved with a ToT.
