Snipers often wrap their rifles with the ghille wraps and camouflage meshes to hide weapon's flat shape in nature. But he only wrapped scope and barrel, so probably he aims to protect weapon's sensetive parts from any impact and stratches during the operation.

SAT is more trained then the Maroon Berets? I couldn't get the exact point. 200 SAT's 6000 OKK's?

These are just estimated numbers by the way, ım just saying almost 200, not saying absolutely and solidly 200....


Also we cant compare trainings and capabilities Maroons and the SAT BTW. But the fact is Maroon Berets are much more capable than SAT, they have different groups specilized different kind of operations like reconnaissance, intelligence, combat search & rescue, underwater & amphibious assault et all. But SAT is for the requrements and needs just for the Turkish Navy's. But the Maroons are much more general an main SF elemet of the entire Armed forces. They even had diving suits and frogmen trainings. Also they have much more real field experience in different warzones unlike the SAT...

I was a a bit surprised cause, why should we use 200 elite forces in Urban Warfare. We have almost 6000 Maroons.
Maroons trained before with LOTAR Eilat, in Eilat sea missions.

Do not be fooled by numbers of OKK. This also counts support teams and admin staff.

The actual number of first line operational maroons is much lower.

We had an interesting information exchange with DENO, I posted a link where German-Seals are numbered with 800 organized in a SEA-Bataillion. He said that they can't be compared with our SATs, he estimated that there are only 150- 200 real SAT, but there are others in the German Sea-Bataillion from the "family" as boardering units and others which are not true (SAT); Deno compared German Combat Divers with our SAT. And wrote that there are in both states round about 200.

The German KSK comparable with our Maroons has almost 6000 active personal.

Seems that we have a terminology problem in Turkey .

Maroons are commanded from a "Korgeneral" and are organized in 2 brigades, right ?
Can we trust the below informations ?

Seems, that terminology problem exists also in Germany. In Bundeswehrforum is written that 1300 KSK are located at HQ in Calw. Seems the often mentioned number of 6000 is together with specialized Paratroopers and other support units.
