Turkish Space Programs

The Delta-V Hybrid rocket-propelled space Tug project. While the fuel and oxidizer (hydrazine etc.) used in space engines today are highly toxic, the fuel used in the project is environmentally friendly and even breathable. The most important advantage of hybrid rocket propulsion in transporting satellites to orbits is that it is possible to reduce the operating cost up to 5 times lower. The project also has TUA support and is aimed to be used in the lunar mission. Therefore, it will have a structural design suitable for high radiation values and deep space conditions that will be encountered when the earth's magnetic field is left outside.

*A space tug is a type of spacecraft used to transfer spaceborne cargo from one orbit to another orbit with different energy characteristics.

The space team grizu-263, which was established by the students of Bülent Ecevit University, completed all the tasks at the CanSat Competition 2018 and brought the 2nd place worldwide. In the same year, they won the first prize at the Teknofest aeropsace festival, model satellite competition.

Now, This young team is proud to send Turkey's first pocket satellite, designed to be used in communication and academic education activities, into space. Grizu-263 was originally going to be sent into space in 2020, but due to pandemic conditions, they were delayed to January 2022 by the company providing the launch service. Even though it is a year late, their satellites finally met with space.

Turkish Space Agency(TUA) President Serdar Hüseyin Yıldırım statements:

- The preliminary design of the national vehicle that will go to the moon has been completed.

- We aim to send this 2-ton vehicle into lunar orbit by 2024 at the latest.

- Those who are not in space today will lose their independence in 20-30 years and will be enslaved, frankly. The world is aware of this. As TUA, we are aware of this fact.

- Our biggest dream is the Turkish World space station

- The Turkish world should be a force together in space. We took the first step of this in Baku.

- The space economy is coming very fast. If we don't invest today, it may be too late tomorrow. Production factories will be established in space. The moon will be the launch center of the world in the near future.

Two planets were discovered at a distance of 1336 light years in the "Exoplanet Discovery by Timing Method" project carried out with the support of the TÜBİTAK 1001 Program. The planets were named Kepler451c and Kepler451d. An orbital year in Kepler 451c is 43 earth days. An orbital year on Kepler 451d is 1800 earth days.

Turkey successfully tests boosting system for moon mission

Turkey's moon mission AYAP-1 successfully tested its hybrid boosting system (HIS), the Turkish Space Agency (TUA)

Turkey plans to send a rover to the moon by the end of the decade using DeltaV's rocket engine that will first fly to the moon in a test mission in 2023.

IMECE, Turkey's first domestic and national observation satellite with sub-meter resolution, will soon be sent to the SpaceX facilities for launch. Technology Minister Varank stated that all components developed under this project have export potential. IMECE will be launched on January 15, 2023. In addition to the components on the satellite, the design, production, assembly, integration tests, ground station antenna and software of the satellite were developed with domestic facilities. The project is an important milestone within the scope of observation and intelligence satellite studies in Turkey.
