As you know, just a few days ago Russia announced that Russias missile tracking system (also known as early-warning system) detected the launch of two ballistic rockets in the central Mediterranean. Until Russia announced this lunch, we were unaware these launches (at least publicly). The biggest problem and concern here is that were we also able to detect these launches too or not? Thinking the circumstances we face today the possibility of not being able to detect the ballistic test launches really scares me. I know that Aselsan has been working on new radar systems but we really need a strong early warning system to control our region.
Another important thing caught my attention is that the increasing collaboration between the US and Israel on the Eastern Mediterranean. Our interests on the region have been challenged by Israel for many times. Today the Eastern Mediterranean is an important strategic area. I believe my must develop a strategy to tackle this challenge. What do you think guys? Let us hear your thoughts.
