Turkish public believes Turkey has no friends - but Turks

We are in the process of confederative preparation within the scope of the 10, 20 and 50 year plans of the Turkic Council. If you wish, I can give information about the sub-commission studies, parliamentary assemblies, meeting minutes and compliance processes.

But how relevant are they to this topic?

Those who interpret the Turkish nation as small different ethnicities in accordance with their hegamonic interests, or even worse, who speak without any knowledge of the subject ...

On the other side those who curses our founding cadres of Turkey's establishment, because of secularism or non-caliphate ...

The subject came to a ridiculous point as always.
There are associated tangents to every subject matter... one can only commit to or comment on what is presented... ofcourse too rigid of a control on associated opinions will also take away from a meaningful discussion. Besides, I think one should not take countering opinions or narratives as inherently false, antithetical or personal attacks. That way we can have a more fruitful discussion over Turkish tea accompanied with Turkish delight!

"Friends" is not quite correct concept for international relations. Earlier we Soviet people have sincerely believed that the people of the socialist countries are our friends and even brothers. That they are very grateful we saved them from extermination and slavery by western fascism and nazism and rebuild their cities from scratch after the War (for free). But to our deepest surprise, many of them saw us as occupiers and invaders.

reminded me of what I learn in secondary school history class.

During WW2, the Japanese invade China in 1937, expecting the Chinese to line up and be grateful because in Japanese eyes, they are getting rid of those white colonist in China and South East Asia.

Well, things don't really go well for them I guess.

This is not quite correct analogy, because European colonization of China is no near the Nazi in Eastern Europe.

I guess you can't have both, I lived in a former British Colony and people say they were bad. And On the other hand, I don't know how Nazism affect eastern Europe. As much as the same you don't know much about living in a European Colony.

But in the end, it's not the scale that matter, it's the expectation. What do you get with replace one occupation with another? People don't want to live under colonial rules does not mean they want to live under Japanese rule, and people who don't want to live under Nazi rules does not mean they will welcome the Russian.

Let me end by quote my secondary school teacher. "If you don't speak their language, you don't belong here"

Well, imagine if some state help American Indians in 17-18 ct. to survive and make Indian states with Indian rulers, Indian languages, Indian industry, Indian science. Call them brothers, buy all thier goods and make sure noone will invade them anymore. I suppose this state could expect some gratefulness from American Indians.

Frankly speaking British colonies were not that bad.

Also, British made deal with its colonies to support and fight with Allies against the Germans & Japanese with a promise of Independence after the war.

British Indian military fought with British & US forces against the Japanese forces in Myanmar which prevented invasion of China from the South.

You know you are describing what the British do to the Amerindian in the 15 century...….

I guess it is different. You are talking about a world war, and British was dying in that war, without the colonial input during and after the war, the UK would just be another trash country now. They may even be rule by the Nazi.

The problem is, for a selected few colony, the colonialism went past WW2 (Long passed WW2) and when you think why the heck they are still here, and you will start making up your mind as well.

We say that now because we don't have to live under them. The British ethnically cleansed the Mughals from their heartland in today's UP, India, then replaced them with Hindus.

Atrocities which they did were sadistic and inhuman.

No wonder you don't like Ataturk.

Of course they did but they also gave power to various Nawabs who were also Muslims.

No wonder you don't like Ataturk.

Without British help there would have never been a state called Pakistan to start with.

No wonder you don't like Ataturk.

The difference was Jinnah used British to create Pakistan while Ataturk was used the West to suppress Islam.

Okay.

I doubt Britain has any significant influence in America before 17 ct. Anyway - there are no Indian states in America, not republics or autonomous regions. What English people did to Americans was genocide - about the same thing Nazi was doing with Slavic people and Jews in Europe. I suppose they should be grateful to one who saved their *** from genocide and did not asked much in return.
