When has Turkey even been a proper democracy?


Because Turks love that strongman image which tayyip cultivated himself. His not the only one when the Ottomans, Gokturks, Ataturk all cultivated this image.

Democracy has always been a alien concept among Turks because it contradicts the natural law that only the strongest can be the leader.

Even if Tayyip is a dictator as many call it or people constantly vote for him. People prefer to have a leader rather than anarchy or a civil war.

No.

Since 2015 a former prime minister of Romania, 6 other ministers and more than two hundred deputies, mayors and other big state officials were put in jail for corruption. Let’s not even talk about Turkey here.

In a few years Romania that was behind Turkey in GDP per capita and income now is 50%+ above Turkey in both.

First of all you are nowhere close to position to say who is nationalist and who is not. Secondly, you don't know the difference between country's population and number voters, do you? Once you learn it this a "few million" will look a greater number. To be honest according to last elections exactly; number of voters in 2018; 59 Million, number of votes 50 Million.

MHP ; 5,5 M
İYİ ; 4,9 M
CHP ; 11,2 M
SP ; 671 K
HDP ; "5,7" A few Million

Total number of votes of CHP+IYI+SP+HDP got 22,7 Million votes which is slightly greater than AKP alone, 21,1 M. So before talking about a.s.s-manufactured numbers like 40 million etc, learn one or 2 shjt.

In a dictatorship, Erdoğan one handed would get 45 million votes out of 50 M.
