"Modern" political islamic movements aim to rule over you in the way Gulen did. With money, influence and tricks. "Old School" political islamic movements wear baggy pants, turbans, and threaten to kill you and your entire family if you do something they deem "wrong".

Such groups should never get special treatment, like the Gulen. Do they want to partipicate in politics? They will do it in their own following honest ways. And all their inner structure and money movements should be strictly scanned. As far as I see there is no attempt on that from the government sides.
All Tarikats need to be watched closely, who gives a guarantee that another gülen doesnt appear tomorrow?

About appearances - that is, open support - yes, I'm sure there wasn't any open support by Western gov't for the coupsters. I understand that in the Turkish system once a party is accused they may be deemed guilty until proven innocent or until the prosecution's case falls flat; however, if you're accusing someone of SECRETLY doing something criminal there is no way to ever disprove such an accusation, is there?

Mate, how Gülenists can travel to US and stay there for years.....why visa never expires for them ?

How a Gülenist (whom also says he is a ex-ISIS member) can make a presentation in the United States House of Representatives....and live in US since 2015, although he traveled to US just with a tourist Visa?

Of course, as we know, there are no evidence which linking US directly/indirectly to the coup.

There doesn't appear to have been any Western gov't involvement in the July coup attempt.
But if we are assuming....we can very well assume that US government is in bed with Gülenists.

Islamist filth is islamist there is no such thing as modern islam

Gulen is no different than isis or erdogan

You are a filth. How can you label an entire religion with filth?

Ignorant imbecile.

There doesn't appear to have been any Western gov't involvement in the July coup attempt. A July story in the Turkish press blaming an ex-American general has been denounced as absurd and there has been no follow-up to it that I know of.
You're too ignorant that I won't even waste my time.

Sounds like every Islamic group is linked with terrorism in your mind.

No idea.

No idea about this incident you speak of. However, the U.S. Congress asks many people to testify in its committees and some of these may be convicted of crimes afterwards, and congressmen commonly speak (or put speeches in the Congressional Record) about issues they are interested in, including excerpts from letters, documents, etc.

Of course, as we know, there are no evidence which linking US directly/indirectly to the coup.

"Assume" is too strong a word. "Hypothesize" is better - it doesn't commit you to believing in it, it's just an idea for evaluation. And as I see it right now the idea the U.S. gov't saw Gulenism as a "modern Islam" movement is quite separate from the idea that the U.S. gov't would support a Gulenist coup d'etat.

It's like holding that just because the U.S. tolerates dissenters from Roman Catholicism therefore the U.S. supported the attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II: not only is there no cause and effect, but there's the assumption that if you support one idea from somebody then you must support all of his ideas and acts, including illegal ones, whether you know of them or not. By that standard, Erdogan himself is responsible for supporting the coup against him back in July, since some of his ideas of Islamic governance are the same as the Gulenists, or had been the same in the past.

You're too ignorant that I won't even waste my time.
Of course I'm ignorant: I'm also here to learn. If you don't want to teach, that's your choice. Have a nice day!

Sounds like every Islamic group is linked with terrorism in your mind.

If I thought they were all terrorists, I would call for exterminating them. I said do not give them special treatment in politics just because they pose as religious. Strictly track their actions. Scan their money exchanges and tax them. Can you give a guarentee that no other religious leader will conspire againts the government? They are dangerous because under this government they are kind of immune and their followers worship them.

Anything you disagree?

You are very knowledgeable....also you have at least have an opinion....about everything...yet you don't know the Visa laws of US interesting.

Now....my Turkish brothers...you should also read this.

Ahmet Sait Yayla;

- He starts working as a police officer in Ankara Police Department Counter-terrorism and Operations Division, at July 1995.
- August 1999 - July 2005: Officially assigned in the US to study for master's and doctoral degrees at the University of North Texas. (In 2001 He retuned from US with a famous Gülenist (Emre Uslu) )
- In March 2006, he visits US for one month.
- In October 2006, he visits US for one month.
- Between November 2006 and March 2007 he works for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

After 2014, when government begin fighting against Gülenists...he appointed to Harran University as a Professor with "court" order.....
http://www.urfa63haber.com/mobil/haber.php?id=1868

In 2015, he took a vacation...and traveled to us. When he arrives at the US, he immediately sends back a statement of health which says he is seriously ill that he can't travel via plane. He is now in US for almost 1 year.

He does extensive anti-Turkey lobbying in US.

Blaming Erdoğan for coup, and white washes Gülenists.

Accusing Turkish government for supporting ISIS

And US government allows him to stay in US....as he is too sick to travel via plane.

Too many coincides !

I agree that any extremist (let it be extreme nationalism, extreme facism, extreme nazism...) and religiously extreme organisations should be monitored by the national security (MIT). But this doesn't mean an ordinary Qur'an course in an ordinary town should be monitored.

Listen you erDOGan slave I said islamist not islam
You must be butthurt due Selim I had a proper rampage against your Ismail.

Plenty of things I don't have opinions or knowledge about. Why would you expect me, an American, to have knowledge of what is needed for foreigners to enter the U.S.? Why would I ever need to know?

Ahmet Sait Yayla;

He's a Turkish Counter-Terrorism chief who wrote a book and addressed a U.S. congressional committee on defeating terrorism -over a decade ago. Probably has testified in committee one or more times since. And he maintains that the Erdogan gov't has supported ISIS.

None of what you name above poses as big threat as (not even combined) FETÖ, since I know these organizations personally. I have close friends within these communities (I'm not part of any community myself).

But I do agree that to some extent they should be monitored.

I know from personal experiences that Suleymancis are economically strong. Their economical system is pretty much same as Fetö. They easily throw money to build chains of structures in the most valuable areas of big cities. I agree that their organization is not as strict as Fetö. But it doesn't mean they will always stay in that level.

The battle of Chaldiran was a decisive victory to the Ottoman Turks, Selim I.
We conquered a major part of Safavids.
Killing a single Turkish Yeniceri is surely a big victory to you - how I must have forgotten :)

You really dare to talk about the Mamluks? First of all, they are also a Turkish Empire. Besides, the Ottomans - in fact Selim I (Your biggest enemy) conquered Mamluks entirety.

That's why I agree that they must to some extent be monitored.

Amnesty and the EU crying about the shut down of terrorist rag Cumhuriyet. I can't wait to see their reaction when the death penalty is reinstated, won't even dare to fantasise about Brussels reaction when the first termination videos are out in HD:rofl:
