Is that a side-mounted VLS? If so, that's an excellent innovation. I can definitely see this as a hot-swap way of arming OPVs, corvettes, and other ships you don't typically deploy weapons from in peacetime. It's also a good way of utilizing unused space in frigates and destroyers. @Signalian @SQ8 @JamD @kursed

Would be quite painful to make this mechanically viable. Can the tiny attachment footprint handle the static and dynamic loads? I'm skeptical. Unless this is some kind of new, small, lightweight VLS.

It could be for the SUNGUR, a point-defense missile system SAM (<15 kg per missile).

Nothing will happen, a lot of ships use this method.

It could be for the SUNGUR, a point-defense missile system SAM (<15 kg per missile).

Having a containerized VLS makes a lot of sense for UNREP where the tanker just has to pull aside and just swap the VLS out.
But that will add weight, complexity and cost.

Still a neat idea though - allowing ships to be less frugal in their weapons expenditures and undertake less time for UNREP.

Now if a ship was all hot swap with fuel and weapons that would revolutionize turnaround times. No danger of being the proverbial sitting ducks to enemy subs or air attacks during this vulnerable time. 15 minutes to get a frigate all loaded up with supplies and ammunition without the hole refueling hoses. Although it would require calm sea states.

Dependence on foreign submarine warfare management systems is coming to an end. The National Production Integrated Combat Management System (MÜREN) was integrated into the first submarines. It is aimed that MÜREN will enter the service of the Naval Forces Command in 2022, after the naval acceptance tests are completed.

MÜREN is a fully integrated combat management system with 20 different sensors, navigational and weapon systems. All functions, especially sonar signal processing, command control, fire control and ship navigation, will be able to be implemented locally and nationally.

MÜREN will have the capabilities of launching modern heavy torpedoes, sensor (sonar, periscope, electronic support systems) data, unique target movement analysis, and track management. Fire control of national torpedoes will be provided via the MÜREN system. MÜREN can also be integrated into the new generation Reis class submarines. Meanwhile, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM continues to develop two different sonar suites that can work in integration with MÜREN.

According to the information received by Defence Turkey magazine İbrahim Sünnetçi from the Navantia official, TCG Trakya will have a complete UCAV carrier concept. In this case, TCG Trakya will be the world's first UCAV carrier which is designed and planned directly for this purpose.

On the other hand: the Arresting System, which will be located in TCG Anadolu for tactical UCAVs (and may be for MIUS), will be produced by Baykar Defense. Navantia will also actively cooperate with Sedef shipyard on integration.

Tender for three new MILGEM frigates has been announced.

RMK Marine is currently producing MİLGEM class corvettes for the Ukrainian Navy. Companies with navy shipbuilding experience such as RMK Marine, Anadolu Shipyard, Sedef Shipyard, Dearsan Shipyard are possible contractors.
