What's new

Turkish Naval Programs

The fire control radar is already on the turret. The search radar is what's in that rear tower section, and yes you're right, the whole rear tower section will probably be removed and it will use the ship's main search radar when it's deployed onto a ship for duty.
In this respect, even in the patrol bots, a serious skill increase can be achieved.

For example, Korkut-D can be placed instead of 40mm OtoMalera TC Gun.
By placing the MAR radar in the main mast, the BORA point defence Stinger system can be placed in the rear deck. In addition to harbor safety and anti-infiltration, such Tuzla boats can also gain effectiveness against helicopters and cruise missiles.

yes I found on defence and aerospace journal,no 175,pp95 that korkut system tested with success on airbus defence and space DT-45.This target drones maximum speed is 450knot,but this trial not included sea skimmed mode.
Korkut -D is tested with 350-400 knot (0.6mach)with sea skimmed target drone succesfully but we have to test with target drones capable of 0,8-0.9 mach-550-600knot sea skimmed mode.US navy tried millenium system very smilar to our korkut-D,but did not purchase it,we do not know why?May be they decided to stick their 20mm ciws system, but korkut and millenium systems are longer fire range than 20mm ciws and gives more reaction time which is vital for the ship against missiles.Nowadays more supersonic missiles are coming for game changing against for surface ships.
By the way we are working on atmaca anti-ship missiles and we can test this korkut-D against atmaca to improve both systems altgother

Perfectly fit for Mediterranean theatre of ops, including Aegean.

There is no tank in the amphibious brigade inventory. Land forces may provide Leopard in the future.

I wonder which missiles will be put inside of that?
- various type all-weather short/mid/long-range anti-air missiles ,
- mid/long range surface-to-ground/surface cruise missiles ,
- maybe anti-submarine rocket in future (if there is a need to use such an ammunition in the future)

The most important advantage of the vertical launch system is its ability to engage with a low-reaction time and a more missile on the same time-period. In other words, a national VLS system may mean that many ammunitions that we have developed indigenously are adapted to vertical launching.
