Yes it can thats his main purpose after all : To protect mechanized units from air born threaths.

When mechanized units entered Syria this/last year they had Atilgan/Zipkin variants installed on ACV's with them for protection. Definitely an upgrade.

These kind of Laser systems are not substitutes for conventional air defense systems. As use of laser has restrictions like in foggy weather it became less effective. Think of it as supplement not substitute. So, what Aselsan did, makes sense.


A 20kw HEL looks like this.

Although it's 10 + 10 kw....i can say our is not so much different from it, regarding size.

Just swap one of the stinger canister with HEL.

Aselsan seems to be leading in Laser weapons tech.
The Boeing HEL MD vehicle prototype with 10 kW power in 2012 looks like monster compared to it.

Hoping to build off of the Navy’s extensive inventory of existing anti-surface missiles, Boeing plans to compete a modified version of the Harpoon RGM-84 anti-ship missile (ASM) for the over the horizon ASM capability for the Littoral Combat Ship and the modified LCS Frigate program, the company announced on Tuesday during the Navy League’s Sea-Air-Space Exposition 2015.

Boeing’s bid would add a new warhead and a reconstituted engine for a range of more than 130 nautical miles — up from the about 70 nautical mile range of the current Block II weapons — in a Harpoon Next Generation scheme that would create new missiles and offer kits to upgrade the existing inventory.

The company is focusing on the upcoming LCS over-the-horizon ASM and the existing fleet of Harpoon users as a cost effective option for the Navy. Boeing did not release pricing information.

As Turkey will develop its own rocket motor(jet engine) with kale group and other parts, it will offer the cheapest and still good quality.. Turkey should join into more US army technology supply..

Also AHEAD ammunition would increase accuracy crazy as hell against terrorist also it has a very good range when compared to G3-MG3-MPT-76... Also it is remote controlled... It can be used as air defence systems too at these border posts...

Bro, Using such a monster like Korkut + 35mm twin barrel AHEAD munitions against humans are like a crime against humanity.

Joke aside but Instead of using such advanced and expensive system (able to hit coming missiles/aircrafts) over terorists, SARP/STAMP like stabilized gun solutions are more adequate in terms of cost/effectivity.
