Very good, and UAE is getting MBDA cooperation to set up development and engineering facility in UAE for smart glider like this missile but 6 missile per rack. It is more about swarming targets though so that interception is impossible.

This would be better than REK for JF-17 right? Allows many more targets to be hit and similar ranges.
The PAF uses REK on 1,000 lb GPBs. It might even be using them from 2,000 lb GPBs. The Turkish solution shown here is a lightweight (250 lb) SOW solution. It wouldn't replace the REK. In fact, the Turks will use this alongside their own PGB kit (HGK etc).

That's nice of France.

Turkey is developing Kuzgun (Raven), which is pretty much similar in concept (swarm attack), but more modular with varying warheads, seekers, glide and or jet powered variants.

However, because this missile development is solely a Turkish venture with no foreign element, it will be integrated onto many platforms while utilising Turkey's national Data-Link system.

In-service target date: 2025. Add a few years of delay plus an additional time penalty for UAE, you should expect to have these in 2028-ish. MBDA is moving with turtle speed.

One can only imagine how much the battleground has changed by then. Turkey, and other countries, have already started fielding DEWS. With 5-6 more years of development time for DEWS, swarm tactics will most likely be redundant against capable foes.

they first need to dewelop new small Turbojet engine and that itself take years, also, if you but all those things from abroad, it means you still depend on them, they know how many of it you pose and so on..

Could be obsolete by then, but we shall see.

Even the frogs dont use 100%indigenous parts in their missiles, and probably Turkey is not 100% either on some things. UAE has 1.2 million nationals, and yes it is going to be impossible to develop everything even with a highly educated population, and foreign help.

Nice, you can't compare UAE and Turkey because UAE only has 1.2 million nationals m8. This is monumental stuff compared to their population size.

Of coure not, but Turkey is facing sanctions so we will probably aim for a higher national input (always).
