Well equipped? What weed are you smoking? An average indian soldier in 1962 was equipped with a ww1 era Lee Enfield mkII rifles. The average PLA soldier was equipped with a type 56 assault rifle which was standardised across the PLA by 1960. Chinese soldiers were well experienced and well equipped as they had recently fought against the Americans and the UN in Korea, they badly kicked the asses of Turkish soldiers who were a part of the UN, the Chinese taught a lesson to the Turks too.
Chinese are was so poorly equipped that they could only give a rifle to 1 in 3 of their soldiers.
Lol , the PLA of 1960s was the most powerful military force in Asia. It had 5 million troops in 150+ divisions. In 1962 indian army was a force of 400,000 soldiers in just 24 divisions, 19 of these were either in counter insurgency operations or deployed against Pakistan. India only managed to muster 2 divisions of troops ( 22,000 men) against roughly 10 PLA divisions ( 100,000 men). We were outnumbered 1:5. The Chinese had started preparations for the attack many months earlier while our leadership raised the slogans of Hindi chini Bhai Bhai , which means that Indians and chinese are brothers. We did not have roads in the border areas , it took 7 days to go from a Trek from guwahati to tawang and that on a mule track because there were no roads, the Chinese had built a highway in Tibet and through aksai chin as far back as 1959.

Depends on what type of Indians, the typical hindoo can't fight, they need Punjabi Sikhs and Gurkhas.
Most Gurkhas are Hindus , their motto itself praises a a hindu goddesses kali. Sikhs are not an ethinic group , they're a religious groups, they descended from Punjabi Hindus and share the same ancestry as Hindus, we also have Marathas , Tamils, Jats and Rajputs. I'm a Punjabi Rajput myself. Infact most of the indian and Pakistan army is made up of these communities. The tamil hindus are also fierce fighters as proven by their war against Sri Lanka. India has a Madras regiment made up of Tamil soldiers.
