Isnt it better to have 40 mm instead of Phalanx for their intended missions. Infact if i remember correctly having 40mm was the plan. There was this video below and all information sharer about the subject have the same 40mm on their videos. So there isnt any embargo, everything gone according to plan.

In near end part of the video 2x40mm is used against coastal defence fortifications, they arent intented for air defence, that is why are at the front.

No. They lack now close and effective air defence.

The Turkish LST will be armed with two OTO Melara 40mm Fast Forty single naval gun mounts, two Mk15 Phalanx close-in weapon systems (CIWS), and two machine guns on remotely controlled stabilised mounts.

Turkish navy has phalanx systems in hangars. ( From the knox class frigates).

So.. embargo couldnt be the reason. (their modernisation to block-1 level may be going on )

I hope SSM starts a new project for ciws. Kale has minigun experience maybe they also working for differences multibarrel guns who knows. It can take time but i dont think it will be a problem for aselsan to develop one.

No, it's not about embargo. Phalanx sets arrived late regrading the planned time table. No idea who's responsible for the delay but, she was about to start to conduct SATs when they arrived. Therefore that was dragged to a delay of the ship's handover. Moreover the planned systems were block 0s but the delivered ones are Block 1B BL.2. That means an ECP is also needed to integrate the new (higher versions of) systems in to the CMS. All these led to a possible time delay. So UDI decided to install the systems after the completion of SATs and handing over of the ship to user. That's all.

Korkut-D, at least for this Project, is out of discussion.

Hope you are right. Yes it was contracted. But delivered ?

Please remember DM Fikri ISIK said in the USA some days ago:
'' You didn't delivered us, your ally, some weapon stations and we produced them within 6 months in Türkiye "!

There seems to be some problems.
First F-35 are also delayed.

I know what close in weapon systems for and I know the differences between phalanx and korkut D.
Just my opinion , If we want to export our ships we need not only indigenous phalanx systems but also capable Turkish missile system to replace the Raythone's RAM mk31 guided missile system which we used for Milgems.
