Turkish Defence Industry Exports & Updates

"We are close to signing a contract to supply the Saudi Air Force with air-to-surface missiles for unmanned aircraft, and we believe that this is related to their agreement to purchase a Turkish aircraft," the company's representative said. I think it means the Turkish company VESTEL."

If Vestel makes the first drone export that will be huge success for them and a big **** you to TAI and Baykar/Bayraktar.

I have thought about this too, Here are four pieces of thought:
  1. This may be a largely political deal. How can Vestel sell their products abroad when even Turkish military didn't buy it? Usually when countries request for RFP they ask if the weapon system is being used in the home country, if not that is a huge disadvantage. Not only that but Turkish military is highly picky in their procurements, so if they buy something it gives the product a verification.
  2. Since the government didn't buy any Vestels and instead bought TAI and Baykar products, they may be deliberately cannibalizing TAI/Baykar exports just to keep Vestel defence afloat.
  3. Although Vestel products are not top-notch (see 1.), since they are a commercial company they may have a successful PR and ad campaign, which resulted in them being favored abroad.
  4. Vestel's drones are very good, but they were very late for Turkish gov to procure them, so now they are targeting markets abroad.

Turkey may not have bought any Vestel UAVs but a fair few was leasesd out and used successfully.

Bayraktar cant export because production line is full till a few year.
What's the production rate of Baykar ? How many "production lines" do they got ? As if a batch shop style producer have any production line...... What's the constraints of their factory ?

Do you know or not ? If not don't talk on the subjects that you are clueless about.

It is not about factory constraints, if you cant have critical components on time you cant produce it. See the late Atak deliveries.

Nice Camo.
