Panter hareketleniyor

Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi Kurumu’nun (MKEK) çekili obüsü Panter hareketlendi. MKEK’in ASELSAN ile işbirliği ile geliştirilmesini üstlendiği kamyon üstüne konuşlu Panter 2 obüsüne ilişkin ilk maket Abu Dabi’de savunma fuarında sergilendi. MKEK’in 40 km Menzilli Topçu Silahı (Panter) 1998 yılında hem kendinden hareket edebilir, hem de çekilebilir olarak tasarlanmıştı. Panter 2 obüsün özelliklerini büyük çoğunlukla koruyor ancak bu defa kamyon üstünde daha hızlı, seri taşınabilir olarak hazırlanıyor. Panter 2 obüsü 600 km hareket menziline sahip olurken namlu ve silah sistemi değişmiyor.

Pakistan and Turkey should together develop a light 155mm Howitzer of around 4 ton weight class similar to M-777. MKEK developed 105 mm light howitzer for this work.

The Denel G7 is really interesting. Although it is 105 mm, Denel had designed the G7 such that it has the terminal velocity of a 155 mm gun. This was attested by General Dynamics Land Systems. It is a good trade-off in that you get the power of 155 mm, but a very lightweight gun, lighter than the M777. That said, Denel has the chops to make a 155 mm <4,000 kg gun.
