Atilgan PMADS

Pedestal Mounted Stinger System, ATILGAN, is a fully automated firing unit using Stinger missiles for very short range air defense.

ATILGAN is based on an armored/tracked personnel carrier M113A2 and it is operated with a three-man crew the driver, the gunner and the commander.

The main mission of Low Level Air Defense System ATILGAN, is the low level air defense of stationary and moving forward troops, convoys and tactical bases in the battlefield.

HERIKKS Air Defence Management System

​

HERİKKS is an Air Defence Early Warning Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence System that manages the air defence activities on Tactical Level. HERİKKS basically provides the interface among radar and weapon systems and organizes these separate systems so that they act as a coherent integrated air defense system. HERİKKS takes air threat information from a variety of radars, produces a recognised air picture in real time and assigns the available air defence weapons to selected targets.

Modernization of 35 mm Towed Air Defense Guns

​

In scope of the modernization program, electronic subsystems are renewed with high performance ASELSAN products including servo drivers, fire control computer, power distribution subsystem and power generator. In addition to the performance improvements, reliability, availability and maintainability figures of the guns shall improve. Modernized 35 mm Towed Air Defense Guns will gain the capability of using Airburst Ammunition. With use of Airburst Ammunition, guns shall become effective against a large variety of target types including air to ground missiles, cruise missiles, UAVs, etc.

Air Defense Fire Control System

​

Air Defense Fire Control System will undertake the mission of command control of the air defense gun systems and short range missile systems. The system will have 3D search radar, fire control radar, electro-optical (E/O) sensors, threat evaluation and weapon allocation capability. This system developed by ASELSAN will be able to detect the target, identify friend or foe and track the target by its own sub-systems. Air Defense Fire Control System will be used instead of the old D-IX system by the Turkish Armed Forces.

Despite offers of Raytheon and Lockheed Martin in support of the Patriot, Ankara preferred to turn to Eurosam, whose anti-missile system would have ranked second in the competition by ensuring compliance with the Patriot higher coverage with fewer batteries.
Turkey would be targeted to close by the end of the year an agreement that defines the entrance of his companies Roketsan, Havelsan and ASELSAN in the joint production of anti-missile system and the development of the Aster 30 missile version ballistic missile (Block 2 BMD) with large transfer of technology under the acquisition agreement worth $ 3 billion.
