I think any attack on US supported fighter will further deteriorate Turkey US relation . Any attack on US supported fighter might cost Turkey losing many soldiers by friendly fire by US. Turkey is making too much enemy which might cost them.

Personally America will not do anything to get in the way of a firefight and turkey dominates that area with shirt lines of communication. Additionally strategic location of Turkey makes it vital to US interests else it will end up in the Russia camp with 100 NATO knowledge. Turkey is not poor country so cannot be ignored.
One further thing this leadership of Turkey is God fearing and when you are afraid of God all else doesn't matter. Kurds celebrated and raised Israeli flags when Israel stated Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. If Kurds get wiped out I don't care. They earned it themselves.
