Turkish Drone Maker Baykar Makina Gets Government Support
The company plans to invest 600 million liras ($106 million) to increase its production of unmanned aerial vehicles, according to a presidential decree published Thursday in the nation’s official gazette. The investment will double Bayraktar TB2 drone production to 92 units per year, while adding the capacity to manufacture 24 Akinci armed drones and 36 other combat drones, according to the decree.

According to the Presidency Resolution 1504 published in the Official Gazette today, Baykar Makina will establish a new unmanned aerial vehicles and intelligent systems production facility with an investment of 600 million TL.
According to the decision, Baykar Makina will realize investment in unmanned aerial vehicles and intelligent systems production facility in Esenyurt district of Istanbul. Baykar Makina plans to create 1122 additional employment with 600 million TL of direct investment. In addition, Project-Based State Aid will be given to the investment made by Baykar Makina. According to this incentive, the company will be exempt from certain taxes. The duration of the investment is estimated to be 8 years.
