The Turkish Military is just keeping quiet so that Turkey's application for EU membership is not jeopardized.

Turkish government is trying really hard to make a further mess of an already messy situation.

I hope they come to their senses soon enough.

Turkey guarantees the right of passage in international waters. This is the basic right of maritime law and not a provocation obviously. So its Israel whether they engage a war in international waters or not. All Turkey does is defending its right.

The Turkish Governemnt would be taking a very bad risk in taking on Israel. They have a strong military capability. But they could count on zero NATO support for such an action. In the end they could not hope defeat Israel. Politicaly I doubt the Turkish public would take being put in such a postion very well.

Any attempt of Turkish naval ships to enter waters controlled by Israel would be considerd an act of war. And I'm sure if Israeli Naval ships entered Turkish controled waters. Turkish reaction would be no different.

Personally I am tired of this conflict. Palestinians/Muslim countries must accept that Israel is here to stay. Israel should return all the land it captured in 1965.

Is it true? Will any naval escort--even till the end of the international waters--be allowed by Turkish public/generals? You know this is not a game. Turkey has worked hard for almost a century to build a modern, prosperous state. This will all vanish in a short time. Of course Israelis will get a beating of a century but destruction everywhere.

i still dont think israel is a match for turkey. seriously, israel may have edge over the arabs or iran, but turkey is different. its military has much better equipment and better training

Compared to Arabs... Israel is in a idfferent league..If war does happen, it is very much possible to see Raptors fighting from Israel's side..

What does he want to achieve? A new war in mid-east? There is no way Israel Navy will let those ships have a free pass.

If true, then this is a major escalation. I think Turkey should use its influence to get a fair deal for Palestinians; the rest will fall in place.
PS. I am posting this to the 'World Forum' because of regional, if not global consequences.

If that doesn't work US may just give green signal to Turkish Military to take over the reigns of the country.

If turkey thinks it only fights Israel alone, it simply is just too stupid. As for training, I do not even understand how you can take turkey above Israel. Even U.S. AF does not necessarily think itself above Israel counterpart.
