A very interesting video about the Kurdish language, the assimilation of Kurds and the state of oppression carried out by Turkey prior to 2001. Very interesting also in accordance to the ongoing ''Peace process'' between PKK and Turkey and the right to be taught in one's mother tongue.

Funny how the turks trust NATO just because they are now a member.

But NATO or USA have never helped the muslims and if one day they need to destroy Turkey, they would arm the kurds who are millions in Turkey.

And i would be with the kurds because Turkey are bullying Syria with Al Qaeda that they host, train & equip

Euro court fines Turkey for violating pro-Kurdish politician’s freedom of expression

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled that Turkey infringed on pro-Kurdish politician Hatip Dicle’s right to freedom of expression by convicting him over an article he published and ordered the state to pay 4,500 euros in damages.

Dicle, who was elected to the Parliament in June 12 elections with the backing of the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), had applied to the Strasbourg-based court following a decision by Turkey’s top election board (YSK) to strip him of his deputyship.

The YSK’s decision had based Dicle’s conviction on terrorism charges in 2009 after he wrote and published an article in which he criticized government policy in the town of Dersim, denouncing the economic situation and the growth of drug trafficking.

The ECHR decision issued said the Turkish state violated the 10th article of the European Convention on Human Rights, which regulates freedom of expression, and ordered the country to pay 3,500 euros for non-pecuniary damages and 1,000 euros for costs and expenses to Dicle.

The politician is currently incarcerated as part of the case against the Kurdistan Communities’ Union (KCK), which is accused of being the urban wing of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), itself a terrorist organization according to Turkey, the United States and the European Union.

Penalty over detention conditions

Meanwhile, the court also ruled against Turkey in a case filed by İbrahim Güler, an alleged Hizbullah member serving a prison sentence.

Güler, who was taken into the custody during an operation against Hizbullah in 1996 but convicted in 2005, has complained that both his pre-trial detention and the proceedings as a whole had been excessively long, and that he had been denied access to a lawyer while being questioned by the police, according to the court’s statement.

Güler, who was questioned in the absence of a lawyer, later retracted his statement, claiming that he had been tortured and threatened while in police custody.

The Court found Turkey guilty of violating all of these accusations and ordered the state to pay 12,200 euros for non-pecuniary damages.

Who trusts NATO ? When we invaded Cyprus in 1974 NATO sanctioned us, they even threatened us with bombing Istanbul. But we carried on and emerged victorious.

Lol, first learn some Turkish history, before spreading BS. This has been tried and failed for 28 times.

Yeap, we are bullying Syria, they should have thought better before downing our jet.

And we don't train or Host Al-Qaeda.... We just shelled their position yerterday.

They couldn't touch you and they know it very well :P

Not only on Turkish soil, but Kurdish insurgency used Syrian and Iraqi soil to attack Turkey, but they miserably failed. A few years ago Turkey bombed them in Iraq, and hunted them down in Syria.

Well, it is a good thing, but I think it was a bit earlier than I thought

Why i'am not surprised that he didn't mentioned Kurdish uprisings and PKK terror organization. :P

You know peace process is about to end.

Well, no one can expect us to stay idle while our brethren getting slaughtered.

Hafiz Esad's support for Kurdish militants bring war to our doorsteps at the time.

Mate, i think our policy with Syria is don't bring that shıt to our country.

You know, we downed Syrian helicopter. Killed YPG fighters who posed a threat in the border and now bombed ISIS.

Yes, Hafez WRONGFULLY believed that the Turks shorthanded him over Israel - When Turkey interfered to hold talks and exchange messages. But hey, it wasn't only Hafez who supported insurgencies!

Well, no one can expect us to stay idle while our brethren getting slaughtered.

Well, Turkey is a powerful country that she has the right to defend herself. However, a fight between you and them shouldn't have happened ever! The FSA isn't strong enough to open two fronts fighting Assad on one hand, and driving the extremists off Turkey's boarders on the other.

Both of Al-Nusrah and the ISIS wanted to control the Syrian-Turkish boarder to gain the upper hand against the FSA.

I'm sorry to hear that the chaos was about to reach you, but such thing is imminent as Turkey shares a boarder with Syria.

No worries,we got it under control.
To topic,we dont have problems with peoples languages, the only problem is:dont try anything stupid, you will end up beeing on the losing side.
So lets just live in peace(up to you,who ever you are)or else(no threat, just stating facts).

I think most of people missing one point. I mean people not living in Turkey. Yes we have millions of Kurdish people in Turkey. They are part of us. PKK have a legal party in Turkey and they are getting votes max 5 or 6 points. Plus more then 50.000 armed Kurdish villagers againist PKK. We had Kurdish prime ministers which i voted too. And in most of the other countries nations isolated from others. I think because of Empire background famillies mixed together in Turkey. I have Kurdish relatives too. And we didnt have any problem in our life and we will not. 5 percent againist 95 percent thats the reality.

No way Turkey will shell al Qaeda positions, its just a design for media publicity to confuse the west (Nato/USA)

For more than 2 years, Turkey had been harbouring militants by- providing logistic support
- safe haven (hotels) for terrorists
- assembling worldwide jihadists and providing military training
- providing weapons, military information, financial support and medical assistance,
- providing safe passage for al Qaeda to enter Syria, etc etc ..

The move comes as Turkey, a key backer of the Syrian opposition, faces accusations from Western allies that it has allowed arms and foreign fighters to cross into northern Syria, facilitating the rise of radical groups, a charge it denies.

Turkey has maintained an open-door policy throughout Syria's two-and-a-half-year conflict, sheltering half a million refugees and allowing the Syrian opposition to organise on its territory. But it denies arming the rebels

Believe it or not, that's official statement from Army (Turkish General Staff) which i shared the link.

They are giving exact time, place and the used military assests of that incident.
