Turkey is finished - Pepe Escobar

My friend,

NATO alliance is not a white privilege club. It is an alliance that should be taken seriously like USSR in earlier times.

You should get in touch with some news reports, leaders of NATO members are siding with Turkey on this incident.

For example, US president Barack Obama recently stated that Turkey have the right to defend its airspace. He also stated that Russians should not target a specific rebel group (operating in Syria) that is supported by NATO.

Turkey is also a contributor to advanced NATO military projects such as F-35. It [will] be taken seriously.

Exercises prove nothing. They are conducted to simulate a scenario and gain experience from it.

Now, I am not interested in discussing the technicalities and theoretical outcomes of a clash between F-16 and advanced Russian Jet Fighters. However, assuming that an F-16 does not have the capability to shoot down latest Russian Jet Fighters in a [real conflict] is utterly idiotic. Dog-fights are nearly irrelevant in a modern conflict in the airspace; important factors are radar coverage, situational awareness, missiles types and timely decisions.

This information have been released by Turkey:

As you can see, Turkey was fully aware of the movements of the Russian Jet Fighter. This is known as situational awareness.

Turkey have access to advanced surveillance technologies and even have stockpiles of nuclear weapons (just in case).

All the chest thumping and false bravado does not changes the fact that Turkey is a powerful nation, a member of NATO and it should be taken seriously.

The best course of action for both the nations is to respect each other's integrity and interests and deescalate tensions. Nothing more, nothing less.

LOL of course the West will say that openly. In words they will fully back Turkey, when the war starts, NATO won't lift a finger for Turkey. NATO is very much a Western club that Turkey gained access due to cold war. Turkey is a mere pawn in the chess game. Pawns are sacrificed to protect the King. West will never put at risk its cities and people and way of life in a full war with Russia to fight for a islamic jihadi regime and its islamic dictator.

Couple of Russian cruise missiles and those Turkish radars are history.

Nuclear weapons are not for you. That's for the defence of America.

F-16 cannot compete with Su-30, Su-35.

Turkey is not a powerful nation whatsoever.

General Hamid Gul, Pakistan spymaster - obituary - Telegraph

Gul became head of the ISI in 1987 at a time when America and Saudi Arabia were using the agency to funnel billions of dollars and armaments to militant groups fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan – groups that would later become the Taliban and al-Qaeda.

One of his proudest possessions was a piece of the Berlin Wall, presented to him by the people of the city in gratitude for “delivering the first blow” to the Soviet empire through his use of jihadi fighters.

Rest of the world thinks otherwise.

Who is 'rest of the world'?

Without the ISI the Russian/afghan war was a lost cause. FACT. Wihout the ISI there would have been no logistics support , no training to Thousands of fighters who fought the russian's. remain in denial.

There is a reason a piece of berlin wall is sitting at our Army headquarters.

The naive german intelligence who gave a piece of history to Hamid Gul.

You would think scandinavian countries can win a war because they loads of money.

The saudis have loads of money and yet their army is trained by us.

So much for money:lol:

People should calm down. It's simple really. No airspace violations,no Sidewinder turning Suckois into flameballs.

As for those Turkmen shelled by Russia, one of their leaders is a Turk citizen,Arpaslan, member of the Grey Wolves ,a nationalist movement, not jihadis ,similar to the Russians in Donbass. If Russians defend the Donbass area so will Turkey the Turkmen areas.I'd imagine Grey Wolf members, with their Tengri,Turan ideologies don't really see eye to eye with Al Nusra either. They'd probably defenestrate Erdogan to,given half the chance.

As usual...it's pretty complicated in Syria nowadays.

.
LOL @ Turkey being a strong military power.

You are beyond delusional.

Turkish military is beyond a joke. What does Turkey have that can even remotely worry Russia in a war?

One, just one Russian missile strike in Ankara and you will see the Turks beg for mercy.

Turkey vs Russia is just as lopsided as Pakistan vs India.
Indian military made a complete and utter mockery of the Pakistani military in all the wars you had against India. Pakistan was considered one of the strongest militaries among the Muslim world and got a thumping.

Turkey to beat Russia in a war....dream on.

LOL, an indian spotted

indians' obsession with "hypersonic missiles" (your username) is well-known. You are just another insecure indian who is trying to make himself feel happy after having to face the humiliation again and again at the hands of Muslim rulers...and then Islamic state (Pakistan) in 20th century.

Worth mentioning the thumping we give them in Sports.

Head to head

Cricket
Pakistan wins 72 India 50

Hockey
Pakistan wins 80 India 54.

You are wasting your time explaining to fan boys.

Funny thing, During cold war Turkey allowed American Jupiter missiles to be placed on its soil against Soviet Union, despite the dangerous consequences.

And the fan boys here think Turkey cannot stand up against Russia in today's era.

Those who mess with the Bear are doomed one way or another.

Payback big time. Sooner or later.

Strike where it hurts Turkey, and by extension the US, the most.

Brave turks, come before the shield of Nato and fight a honorable war against Russia the Bear.

West never treats muslim countries as equals, they will only use you for geopolitical gain. Nothing more, nothing less
Agreed!

I think Turkey must not be an escape goat for Goras for their fight against Russia, otherwise, they have every right to protect their border.

Absolutely!

Turkey is not like Syrian rebels who can't retaliate the Russian bombing. Turkey is one of the strongest military powers and a brave nation. Also remember they will not be alone. Conflict with Turkey will not be such a simple issue for Russia.

Neither is Russia a simple issue for Turkey. lol Its more than capable of putting a big punch through Turkey.

.
Absolutely!

I don't know if you sarcastically put "absolutely" or you actually agree with that retard's post.

If you do though, you're an equal retard.

Turkey...and Turkey alone...is the entire Eastern front of Europe against Russia. Turkey is the most powerful nation of Eastern-Central Europe with a massive military, hundreds of modern fighter jets, a huge modern naval fleet, a near trillion dollar economy, 80 million population, and a decently big territory with mountains, lakes, and so on.

It would be VERY hard for Russians to invade and just run-over Turkey. It is literally impossible. Turkey will protect eastern flank before West/US can mobilize.

Without Turkey, Russians will just swim through Eastern European plains crushing punny, irrelevant countries like Hungry, Romania, and even Poland etc. There's barely any geographic barriers to slow down Russian advance--forget about any formidable military.

So, the idea that NATO won't do anything if Russia attacks Turkey is merely a brain fart.
