Turkey interested in buying 70-100 Eurofighter jets - report
AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE
Thu, 3 Nov 2005, 11:42

MILAN: The Turkish government has made a 'request of information' to Finmeccanica SpA's unit Alenia Aeronautica in view of the possible purchase of 70-100 Eurofighter military jets, the daily MF said without giving a source.

Alenia is in charge of marketing the fighter plane in certain markets, including Turkey.

The plane is built by a consortium grouping European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co NV (EADS), BAE Systems PLC and Alenia.

If Turkey confirms its interest in the jets, purchase talks could start early 2006 and represent an order of at least 3.5 bln eur, MF said.

I dont believe the article I mean think about it why would Turkey go for the Typhoon when they are in the JSF project and can use that money to buy as much JSF as they want at a cheap price.

the typhoon is an air superiority fighter.

the JSF is not.

excellent strategy.

since none of their prospective enemys will have the raptor to contend to the Typhoon would sufice.

and for ground support, anti ship and bombing the crap out of heavily defended instalations the JSF would kick arse where the typhoon would be vulnerable to SAMs.

just like the f117 is used today but more intensively.

JSf is very, very cheap for a 5th generation fighter. The JSF will cost 30-40 million depending on the variant. We should have asked the U.S for a seat in the JSF profect instead of going for the f-16 wich by the time we get them, well be once again be a generation behind. The JSF is 30% cheaper then the f-16 and has the performance of the f-15e with stealth..we could have went for 100 JSF instead of going for 75 f-16's.Also dont forget that if we get the JSF there is nothing that India can counter with. We'll be able to rule the skies of Asia for year but, of course its to late know.

We have really gotten much better relations with the U.S because they have given us a "major non-nato allie" status. So we can really on the U.S but, I think it would be better to invest with China for a frontline fifth generation fighter in large numbers (300).

The 5th gen fighter that the chinese and maybe the pakistanis with them are devloping will be better then JSF, Eurofighter, Rafale, all the ruissian series, even the PAK-FA that india and ruissa are devloping. But J-XX will only be 2nd to F-22.J-XX would be about 90-95 % like the F-22 :PakistanFlag: :ChinaFlag: So J-XX is much better then JSF while at the same time coming from a reilable source. :ChinaFlag:

well,
can't say any thing about Jxx because its just a concept where as F22 is reality! :W00T:
and as far as EUFTyphoon is is concern, we have to go for them with F16MLU instead of buying new F16s
