What's new

Turkey develops indigenous Altay powerpack

The 3rd country after Israel,Russia,USA,Germany,China,South Korea and even Ukraine.

Only Israel, Russia and Turkiye for 360 degrees protection

ARENA Russia
TROPHY Israel
AKKOR Turkiye

S.Korea doesnt have hard kill active protection system in service

Ukranian one which typical installation protects 150–180 degrees

and German StrikeShield sucks and only minimizes collateral damage in the vicinity of the vehicle.

Germany buys Trophy protection system from Israel to be used on Leopard 2 Tanks

First you said "Active Protection System",now you say "that protects 360 degrees". Cope.

Germany coproduces it and also has German options,if they wanna go for it. I remember Beny and @reflecthofgeismar or some other German talking about the differences between Trophy and AMAP-ADS months ago or last year maybe.

Yes, Trophy is proven AND available. High Radar Signature. But doesn't matter, in asymetric warfare the militias could/should know that there is a no-go area because of the tank IF they got it's radar signature.
And vs near peer/peer enemies, it doesn't matter anyways.

Turkey has been trying developing its own tank engine for how many decades now?

Having to note, even Koreans haven't managed to field their own tank engine either. Their licensed MTU diesel is still worse than the original, and their transmission adds to that.

Japanese tanks are way more remarkable in that regard. Japan is the only Asian country which managed to make a competitive completely indigenous tank engine AND a transmission. Type-10 transmission is superior to whatever RENK makes, and most of the world still lags behind RENK.

Koreans have solved the transmission problem, first batch Altay with Turkish engines will be delivered with Korean Transmission. Second batch Altay will have Turkish engine and transmission if the transmission project goes well.

Germany will have another 2 competition country in this field, Wester hegomania will end slowly.

2 decades and they have done it now..
If the economy doesn't get bad further it will probably develop its jet engine too

Key there is courting the Arabs..they have to get in the good books of Arabs and forget about Europe.

Europe is dying and they don't stand a chance there

Key here is to avoid the Arabs at all cost, persevere and do it with their own money now matter how hard it is. Turkey will be able to do it on their own I am sure.

2-- 1.000 hp UTKU Engine will start vehicle tests in 2024

3-- soon 1.500 hp BATU Engine will perform mechanical, interface and various tests on ALTAY Tank
and mass production will start in 2026

Status
KAPS was developed for the K2 Tank , but it was not installed on the K2
KAPS is not in service

AMAP-ADS has been tested on several platforms .... nothingelse
German Army Leopard2 Tanks dont have AMAP-ADS in active service
How many tanks have you supposedly installed AKKOR on?

Again, you contradict yourself. You said South Korea doesn't have a hard kill system,I showed you they have.

You said only Israel,Turkey and Russia have 360 degree APS,I showed it you it's wrong.

Whether they have it installed or not,is irrelevant.

you hurt his fragile ego lol.

just say "I didn't know that" and move on, what a moron.

And even Syria has an APS lol

Anyway, our big advantage is that we can mass produce a simpler, cheaper system called AKKOR PULAT, but the main problem with PULAT is that it destroys the incoming projectile at around 2 meters, this isn't a safe distance for ACV-15.

We need Tulpar, and we need to start working on a 50+ ton class IFV like the other major players. Israel puts trophy on the Namer which is already ridiculously well protected, being built on a tank chassis, While we're still screwing around with ACV-15s, it's disgraceful.

Solve the Altay engine problems first. It is medium level technology.
Then a far harder nut is to study, fine tune and mass produce a world class fighter engine. It is top level technology.
Good luck !
At least you will be able to argue that shrinking economy ruined your attempts, as your economy is near bankrupt thanks to your new (but old) Sultan.
