It sure looks that way, Pakistan army doesn't want another enemy at their border, they think of TTP as a militia and you cannot defeat a militia until you destroy its ideology. Pakistan needs to back a counter ideology to the TTP but no such policy was created.
TTP claims Pakistan army is Usa agent, they want to implement Sharia in KPK, they claim to care about their Pashtun brothers whilst Pakistan government doesn't, it allows Usa to bomb them, TTP has huge support in N and W Waziristan which is part of Pakistan. Are TTP claims genuine or false?
That would be a disaster, TTP and anti Pakistan militias will use this excuse to spread more hatred. Pakistan policy makers still believe they have enough influence in Afghan Taliban, Haqqani network to control this, yes attacks will continue, Pakistan can't do much about it. The blame goes on to whoever created these militias and this ideology.
The ideology is pashtunism
The only counter ideology is Pakistani nationalism or Islam
And the tribals are a ethnocentric jahil community, backwardness people who turn to violence very quickly
At the moment, our strategic planners who understood that once the Afghan Republic fell their would be FALLOUT
I keep repeating this NONE of what is happening is a surprise
Only to moron's, afghans, bent out of shape Pakistani is it a surprise
We would have been expecting this fallout
Remember, the afghans are at the end of the day, the same lannat people whether they are Taliban, or Afghan Republic
But rather then escalate, Pakistan believes.it has enough control and punishment via border control and state support to keep the afghans on a leash whilst counter security operations are under taken
So a a hard approach of destroying villages etc will just create more issues in a afghan population who carry the victim card as second nature
A d fundamentally our planners are right,, it is never easy being on the receiving end of terrorism, BUT we at the moment can punish the afghans though multiple means because they have very little alternatives
So whilst I don't advocate a hard approach, even though it is warranted
We need to punish the afghan refugee population, and unless it benefits Pakistan start getting them thrown back into Afghanistan or elsewhere
Crack down on house or car ownership
Employment
Etc all of which is illegal for non Pakistani
Keep borders closed whenever afghans act too stupid and keep going back to afghani government with these attacks when they complain
