Trump's tariff is a two way sword. The first casualty is the Wall Street, then spread all over the world's stock exchange. This is no more just a trade war affecting China and USA, Everybody is affected. It may not be Winter time for global economy yet, but the snow are falling more often, and it is getting colder.

US citizens will feel the pain this coming Christmas as prices of everything is going up. The likely outcome is reduction in 4th quarter retail sales in USA. Economy thrive on spending by end users, reduced spending at best will slow down economic growth, at worst there will be a negative growth.

On corporate sectors, both Chinese and US companies will feel the pain, Huawei will again be blocked but it can depend on the huge (world largest) China domestic market and the rest of world (exclude Australia, Japan and New Zealand). Boeing if totally cut off from China's market is going spiral down for Chapter 11, added salt to its wound caused by 737 Max.

US services export to China is actually enjoying favourable balance of trade, if China clam down on services, the US financial and insurance sectors will face negative down turn for the first time in many decades. Service sector is the largest contributor to US GDP. Then there is China tourists and Chinese students' huge spending in US, these will be expected to drop as well.

Most importantly the credibility of Trump is now total worthless, no one is going to trust him, not even his allies in Europe.

The CCP is the major power to oppress nationalism, actually Vietnam Communist Party did the same. Nationalism is like cocaine, make you high and destroy you in future. Only rationalism can develop China and Vietnam.
