He is just such a doofus
I repeat
The U.S for 70 years built up a aura
The highpoint of U.S power, Prestige and influence was right after the cold war and the 90's
Since 9/11 after one dumb decision after the other, The U.S has badly effected its own standing and the orange doofus has pushed it off a cliff
The U.S continues to be the worlds largest military and economic power but in a multi polar world its ability to influence states based upon prestige or gravitas alone is coming to an end
Trump for all his loud mouthed clownish buffoonery maybe just what the world needs to get the american monkey off our backs
The global laugh and mockery at the UNGA meeting was directed at the US regime, rather than the persona of Mr. Trump.
People know that Mr. Trump is an outcome, not the reason.
The reason is the 70 years of hubris called the US foreign policy of destructive intervention, militarization of foreign relations, economic warfare and military destruction.
The laugh and mockery also show that the world has learned not to take the US seriously anymore.
The damage is real and cannot be undone.
So you think Donald Trump is representative of the USA in terms of national character?
Does that mean the whole world is laughing at the USA?
That's what I believe, as well.
I completely and respectfully disagree. I actually know why people think Obama was a pushover, it's because people are comparing him with this circus clown. Obama knew how to play the diplomatic game and just because he didn't withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement, or call Kim Jung Un "Rocket Man" or denigrate the justice department or anyone who speaks against him on twitter doesn't mean he was a pushover by any means.
Obama was quite dangerous, in fact. Especially after he teamed with Hillary, that was a tough nut to crack.
He was a militarist but a clever one. It is convenient to forget that, under Obama, extrajudicial drone attacks all over the world, including Pakistan, increased dramatically.
He weaponized trade through the TPP.
Luckily, Obama took over after Bush, so, the US actions in the Asia-Pacific were contained more or less.
If he took over after Bill Clinton, that would be more difficult for developing countries to restrain the US. When the US was about to experience another boom cycle in the 1990s, China, for example, had a GDP as big as that of India.
The most important aspect of Mr. Trump is, aside from his undermining the long term health of US economy, his undoing of US moral/soft power advantages.
It takes decades to build an image, so, his efforts of undermining the US soft power are the most significant.
I will accept Trump over actual war criminals and genociders like Obomber and Hillary Kill-in-ton.
Exactly. I guess everybody remembers democratic Hillary laughing at the lynching images of the Libyan leader.
Trump is a blessing disguised under a whiter skin. He needs to get re-elected in 2020.
