What's new

Troops of Karachi Corps are practicing tactical drills as part of Exercise “Jidar-ul-Hadeed”

Air defense is ample, provided by MANPADS, M113s with RB70 systems as well as Orleikon GDF-007 AA turrets (these turrets are superior to the smaller caliber ones india has, even if theirs are self propelled, as these have much longer range and advanced Tungsten air burst shells, as well as Skyguard Radar). Air support from PAF exists All tanks are equipped with RWS that can engage air targets too. Tank fired ATGMs can engage low flying helicopters, and Pakistan does have mobile SAMS.
Hey I was looking at some of the videos from the exercise which I must admit is videos released by ISPR over and over again. I did not see significant air defenses. Units accompanying our arm formations. The best was a Talah APC ( up armored M113 ) with a manipad team. What about a dedicated anti aircraft platform like the Indian upgraded

the Indian version is terrible as usual because the placed the optical sensor on the spinning radar. Hence when firing the radar will have to be stopped...... someone was smoking good shit before they Designed this.

on the IFV front we all so pentagon wars and the problems with an IFV in battle. It’s far cheaper and effective to deploy phalanx or ATGM teams to the front to blunt enemy armor.the wisdom of the ages. A great example of this was the 1965 pak India war where antitank Battalions stoped the Indian advance, the Egypt Israeli conflict where the Russian atgm’s devastated American made armor at the fraction of the cost. William Wallace against British heaven cavalry

Could not resist

In this drill few things stood out to me:

1) Lack of integration with attack helicopters
2) Lack of integration with UCAV and drones
3) Lack of integration with self propelled artillery
4) Lack of integration with Multiple barrel rocket launchers
5) Lack of integration with Babur/Shaheen/NASR brigades

May God help us if all we will defend with is tanks/infantry. This seems to be just propaganda on Bajwas part but if we really wanna flex and scare the Indians then we must do excersises with the above integrated components similar to what the Iranians do.
How did you evaluate integration just from a video? Do you even know what integration is?

Sorry, I could not withstand, regarding Sniper and Tanks.

The infantry is there because this might be a defensive position as you can see that the tanks behind the prominent tank are almost scattered to cover the frontage and not to protect the tanks from atgm teams while advancing It is a feature higher then the rest of the area thus it can also serve as a vantage point or may have been assigned some tactical value

I think that these might be same positions

Sort of.... I was referring to those which are way more dense than this one... Example.... Our 1 Armored Division... Close to almost 300 tanks, 200 M113s and more than 70 SP Artillery pieces along with wheeled vehicles completely vanished from the face of the earth, away from prying Indian eyes during Brass Tacks escalation.... And were not found till de escalation....

Hmmm is the IK billion tree tsunami project a coverup to develop these types of tactical forests?
Never realized trees can be so helpful not only in peace but war as well.

On a serious note are these tactics still useful in the days of satellites and surveillance drones?
