As I recall, our current PM called on Pakistanis to stop paying their taxes at one time during dharna saga.

It was him who once called for a tax boycott and stood on a stage telling people to burn electricity bills. Everyone with any sense knew that all these antics would come back to bite once in government. Interestingly for me, looking back, this was the time I cut off from PTI too.

You reap the stupidity you sow, the real victims will again suffer poor economic management, underdevelopment etc.

Bhai two wrongs don't make a right, I still remember his dharna the hardships we residents of twin cities faced, the idiotic speeches, stupid claims but there was underlying rationale, I am not justifying what he did just that the underlying cause was not wrong, its the method which was abhorrent. There is no rationale now bunch of rejects cannot/should not be in a position to topple selected/elected govt unless there is a deeper plot.

My social circle even today remembers I used to say what he is doing will set a precedent and that is very bad for the country, bunch of idiots should not try and topple the elected/selected government, religious communities have more die hard workers tomorrow they will do the same, and that is exactly what is happening.

Neither was previous dharnas/longmarches right nor is this one. Protest is one's constitutional right in ever democracy but we somehow due to inherent violence tend to love destroying our own property (public property), what we say in Punjabi the equivalent would be "kill the goose that lays the golden eggs".

Politics & judicial activism around SOWs is messy and hugely counter-productive. In the recent article written by Shahid Khaqan Abbassi, he indirectly hinted at Establishment's interest as well. So, it would be a bold decision to get rid of SOWs ASAP. Whoever does this would do Pakistan a big favor.

My view has always been of course the beast (its not just the establishment) has its own interests, its own objectives why in the God's name any course correction has to be through confrontation.

Confrontation cannot happen/succeed in Pakistan because no political Govt has ever delivered anything, Pakistanis are very fond of Erdogan's example but no one correlates that it has only happened after an almost 50 years of struggle in a pro west Turkey, started off with small charities/institutions for character building/support/nationalism/patriotism unlike the religious charities/institutions in Pakistan whose entire focus is on outdated education system, producing single minded drones with nothing but hatred in their hearts for every other sect, most of them don't even accept Pakistan for them the whole idea of Pakistan's creation was wrong. The turkish produced thousand upon thousands of like minded pro islam turkish those who rose to become doctors, engineers, corporate leaders, politicians, in the forces. This was a soft revolution more along the lines of evolutionary revolution, then they succeeded in one major city local bodies, delivered there, from there couple more cities and then onto national levels.

People dont lie in front of tanks for political leaders, we have not seen such in Pakistan and I am not expecting anything in the near future because all the rulers IK included once they became rulers they surrounded themselves with cronies/ all is well in the kingdom type people. The jokes of yester years special newspapers for Ayub and Bhutto, people protesting against yahya with Roti in their hands became people waving their hands in love for yahya, so on and so forth. By doing so they forget its the people who have placed them there not the bl*w job experts they have surrounded themselves with and when the time comes for the public to support them the same public they in their ruling days disowned, they too reciprocate in the same coin.
