I dont think trade imbalance is much of a worry in the long term. Pakistani market should have access to good quality Chinese products. This will increase competition.

As i said, Chinese are ready to give concession to Pakistani exporters hence they are revising the FTA on Pakistani request. we can hope it will improve otherwise its not win win partnership.

chinese will not give any concessions whereever they have thr competing products chinese are world leader in exports almost in all categories in which pakistan has some kind of industry. If you got any concessions of raw material exports or sea food or some agricultural commodities that means no difference in any trade imbalance as you are also goving concessions to massive chinese export machine which is already world beating.

Worst effect on industry is coming from smuggling. I know it because I am in the business.
Things with official trade are manageable, smuggling is out of control now.

Please explain this to me, are you trying to state that Pakistani exporters smuggle there goods to China by paying bribes to corrupt Chinese officials? (They don't have to bribe Pakistani officials as there is no custom duty levy on goods being exported). Secondly smuggling, which involves lots of risk to life and property, only takes place if the goods being exported is illegal, I.e not allowed to be exported or there is high tariff which is in place. Does China impose huge tariffs, like 50% on the goods imported from Pakistan?, because a tariff of 5 to 10% doesn't warrant smuggling and paying bribes for that (unless you are smuggling gold and diamonds).
Or is it the other way round, Chinese goods being smuggled into Pakistan? Which would mean a much higher real trade deficit than the one being reported.

Suppose you have a showroom where you sell shoes. You import goods worth $1 million from China. You pay for it using Hawala. When it arrives on your port, you pay the custom officers some money, and declare the value of goods to be $50,000 only, and pay taxes on that only. It is called under-invoicing, and it is a type of smuggling almost every businessman in your country does.

I know this, because the same thing happens in India too. All the time. From furniture, to shoes, to machinery, everything is under-invoiced. Fake bills are easy to generate.

Zhejiang has trade surplus since 30 years ago.
its products are cheap with reasonable quality.
Chinese products are helping poor people to have a better life standard,you can always buy your self made products , we have no objection to it as long as it's fair play!

and this trade imbalance when FTA between pakistan and china is not applied fully and now chinese getting more access to pakistani market thanks to cpec this trade imbalance figure will cripple whatever left of industry in pakistan.

if this is so, all industries in china must be crashed after china joined WTO.
a lot of chinese companies bankrupt yes, but a lot of new chinese companies emerge ....such as HUAWEI, ZTE, Haier, gree, xiaomi, Lenovo, DJI uva,..... we can not blame other countries success coz that is what loser would do, create your own Pakistani high tech company that is always the key! And if you do not know how,start by working for one !!

China does not want to see a recession in Pakistan’s economy. China hopes that Pakistan’s economy and military are strong because the stronger Pakistan is, the stronger the China-Pakistan alliance is. Hope that Pakistan will have more high-tech companies.
