All these often-repeated boring theories!! Here is the "Rain Man's theory of evolution":

Human beings are not the result of normal evolution of life on earth; they are part of an inter-planetary (maybe inter-galactic) intelligent life form. Intelligent species from other planet(s) search and visit life-supporting planets with some form of existing life. Since all life-supporting planets need not be exactly the same, the visiting intelligent species may not be able to live in these planets normally without special life support system. So the better way is to pick up the most intelligent species (thus greater chance of survival) of that planet and putting their own gene in them through advanced genetic engineering, that is done in a way so that the foreign gene becomes more prevalent and the native gene becomes weaker over the generations. Thus another intelligent species is born in that planet which will become as advanced as the original one with time, while being fit to survive in that particular planet.

Thus we the human beings look so out of the world compared to other species on earth, if you see, none of the species on earth have made any advancement over millions of years, in stark contrast to our advancements.

The intelligent species becomes known as "God", and we human beings will someday also play "God" in some other life-supporting planet.

And yes, in this planet they chose some primates for genetic engineering, but not just one species of primate. They picked up a few different types of primates, larger, smaller, black fur, brown/ash fur, etc. from different parts of the world for better suitability with the local climate. Hence we have different types of human beings in different parts of the world looking very different from each other. Rest of the tricks were played by the nature and climate to make them more different.

Anyways strictly speaking, rigorous science by logic would do away with the whole need for an Adam and Eve in the first place.....especially if their origin is just a few thousands of years old instead of the evidence we see of a timeframe of millions of years. Using Aristotle style logic, we take nothing as truth unless it has perceivable and provable evidence. That is the basic of Scientific method....so it can never ever come to a story handed down over generations like is seen with Faith. Every bit of Science must be able to be proven at anytime and anywhere....without the need for stories.

There may be two possibilities:

i. Some species tried to act smart before Adam AS, like making hand axe etc. But they couldn't pace with the time.

ii. There is error in time calculation method. Like there is dark matter in galaxies giving different observations than expected.
