Imran saab,i think this picture is of a Su-30SM of the Russian Air Force as you can clearly see the canards which is there only in the Su-30MKI/Su-30MKM/SU-30 SM.The basic SU-27 doesn't have this feature in it.

Doubt they be used since the IS has already taken cover in cities and are going by ones and twos, not going in all together.

Its also extremely unsafe. I remember talking to an Army officer who suggested that this particular system can go up in flames with a single RPG hit in the rocket pod.

Its not a tank, but it supports tanks: shouldn't be anywhere near an RPG launching individual but some KM back, providing fire support.

I see the missile range is ..short : only 0.4-3.5km or 6km for TOS-1A. There has to be a better way of delivering FUA explosives.

first time seeing this used in combat. how many of these do Iraq got in total?? seems kinda dumb to just have one of these firing. would think 4 of these beasts would be ideal. two to fire all it's rockets and while they reload the other two are standby if they need to fire theirs.

seems like a beast system. if you want to level an area quick, but sustained artillery fire is still the king in my book.


would like to see BM-21 used as well.

Yeah they could use 20. But I think they're quite careful with those. One barrage (some 20 rockets) could destroy have city, literally beyond recognition. So they're mostly used in hardened areas, like some Tikrit areas and now in Ramadi. They have thermobaric warheads, they bust up everything like IEDs etc.
