Most European cities don't build sky scrapers as to not ruin the architecture of the city.

only a few major cities, such as Frankfurt, London, Paris, Istanbul and Moscow contains skyscrapers ( with great economic power )

Most European cities don't build even new buildings , Most European lives in old buildings

Why don't European countries bulldoze the old buildings and replace them with new modern ones ?

Because they care about their past

You can also add Frankfurt in this list as well.
But most of the EU cities lack skyscrapers to keep the natural landscape intact. To see skyscrapers they go to USA, Dubai, Singapore and China but they don't wants these concrete towers in their own cities.

Because they care about their past

or because they have no money to build new buildings ( most of european cities have small economy )

and I am talking about new buildings , not skyscrapers
Most Europeans lives in old building including Germany,France,Italy,Belgium

One in six Europeans equivalent to the entire population of Germany live in a damp or mouldy building, which increases their chances of getting illnesses such as asthma

Europeans living in an unhealthy building with a leaking roof, walls or foundations

a white paper from the German research institute Fraunhofer documents serious health problems related to damp and unhealthy indoor climate affecting 80 million Europeans

You can also add Frankfurt in this list as well.

Paris is with 17 buildings over 150 meters and more 8 under construction

As if having a lot of scyscrapers was something to be proud about or a show of strenght. They destroy the landscape of a city, its architechture, are ugly and soulless.

This one is not so bad - the tallest one, 462 m.

In general, only very large cities have the resources to build and support extremely tall buildings

With the explosion of urbanization around the world and developing economies asserting themselves in high profile ways, the stage is set for a global skyscraper boom

2017-2018 7 buildings over 200m opened in Istanbul and more 2 until 2020

in my opinion its not so bad

building skyscrapers in Istanbul is disgusting. A city that pisses on all those other cities with its great past while its being ruined.
