বাংলাদেশ নৌবাহিনীর জন্য খুলনা শিপইয়ার্ডে নির্মিত আরো দুটি মধ্যমমানের যুদ্ধজাহাজ হস্তান্তর হতে যাচ্ছে আগামীকাল। এ উপলক্ষে এক অনুষ্ঠানে সহকারী নৌবাহিনী প্রধান-আপারেশন রিয়ার অ্যাডমিরাল আওরঙ্গজেব চৌধুরী-এনডিসি, পিএসসি-বিএন প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকবেন। অনুষ্ঠানে খুলনা শিপইয়ার্ডের এমডি, সদ্য পদোন্নতিপ্রাপ্ত রিয়ার অ্যাডমিরাল আরইউ আহমেদ-এনডিইউ, এএফডব্লিউসি, পিএসসি-বিএনসহ ঊর্ধŸতন সামরিক-বেসমরিক কর্মকর্তারাও উপস্থিত থাকবেন বলে আশা করা যাচ্ছে। এনিয়ে খুলনা শিপইয়ার্ডে নির্মিত ৪টি যুদ্ধজাহাজ নৌবাহিনীর কাছে হস্তান্তর হতে যাচ্ছে। চুক্তি অনুযায়ী আগামী মাসের মধ্যে অবশিষ্ট যুদ্ধজাহাজটিও হস্তান্তর সম্পন্ন করবে শিপইয়ার্ড। সম্পূর্ণ দেশীয় ২৮৮ কোটি টাকার তহবিলে চীনা কারিগরি সহযোগিতায় ২০১১-এর মার্চে খুলনা শিপইয়ার্ডে নৌবাহিনীর জন্য মধ্যমমানের ৫টি যুদ্ধজাহাজ তৈরির কাজ শুরু হয়। দেশে এসব যুদ্ধজাহাজ তৈরির ফলে প্রায় পৌনে ২শ’ কোটি টাকা সাশ্রয় সম্ভব হয়েছে বলে জানা গেছে। প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা এসব পেট্রোল ক্র্যাফট তৈরির আনুষ্ঠানিক সূচনা করেন। চুক্তি অনুযায়ী আগামী মাসের মধ্যেই ৫টি প্রেপ্রোল ক্র্যাফট নৌবাহিনীর কাছে হস্তান্তর সম্পন্ন হবে। ইতোপূর্বে ‘বিএনএস পদ্মা’ ও ‘বিএনএস সুরমা’ নৌবাহিনীর কাছে হস্তান্তরের পরে প্রধানমন্ত্রী তার কমিশনিংও করেছেন। আগামীকাল ‘বিএনএস অপরাজেয়’ ও ‘বিএনএস অদম্য’ যুদ্ধজাহাজ দুটি নৌবাহিনীর কাছে হস্তান্তরের পরে ডিসেম্বরের মধ্যেই অবশিষ্টটিও হস্তান্তর সম্পন্ন হবে। আগামী মাসের শেষদিকে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা এসব যুদ্ধজাহাজ কমিশনিং-এর মাধ্যমে নৌবাহিনীর যুদ্ধজাহাজ বহরে যুক্ত হবে বলে আশা করা যাচ্ছে।

প্রায় ১৬৫ ফুট দৈর্ঘ্য ও ২৫ ফুট প্রস্থ এসব যুদ্ধজাহাজগুলোতে ৩৭ মিলিমিটার ও ২০ মিলিমিটারের দুটি করে বিমান বিধ্বংসী কামান ছাড়াও নানা অত্যাধুনিক অস্ত্রে সজ্জিত ৩১ জন করে নৌসেনা ও নাবিক কর্মরত থাকবেন। যুদ্ধজাহাজগুলোতে সংযোজিত এসব ‘এন্টি এয়ারক্র্যাফট গান’ থেকে ১০ কিলোমিটার দূরের লক্ষ্যবস্তুতে নিñিদ্র আঘাত হনা সম্ভব। ইতোমধ্যে ‘বিএনএস অপরাজেয়’ ও ‘বিএনএস অদম্য’র সী-ট্রায়ালও সাফল্যজনকভাবে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। যুদ্ধজাহাজগুলোতে ১ হাজার ৩৬২ অশ্বশক্তির ৪টি করে মূল ইঞ্জিন ছাড়াও জেনারেটর ইঞ্জিনও থাকছে। ‘চায়না অফসোর শিপ বিল্ডিং কোম্পানি’ এসব যুদ্ধজাহাজের নকশা প্রণয়নসহ নির্মাণসামগ্রী সরবরাহ ও কাজের তত্ত্বাবধান করছে। তবে ৫টি যুদ্ধজাহাজের পুরো নির্মাণ কাজই আন্তর্জাতিকমানের নৌনির্মান মাননিয়ন্ত্রণ প্রতিষ্ঠান-‘চায়না ক্লাসিফেকেশন সোসাইটি’র কঠোর মাননিয়ন্ত্রণ ও নজরদারিতে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। স্বাধীনতার পরে বিধ্বস্ত নৌবাহিনীর পুনর্গঠনে সরকারি প্রচেষ্টার অংশ হিসেবে আজ বাংলাদেশ নৌবাহিনী একটি আধুনিক নৌবহরের গর্বিত প্রতিষ্ঠানে পরিণত হয়েছে। তারই অংশ হিসেবে চীনা কারিগরি সহায়তায় সম্পূর্ণ দেশীয় অর্থে আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিযোগিতার মাধ্যমে খুলনা শিপইয়ার্ড ৫টি মধ্যমমানের যুদ্ধজাহাজ তৈরি করছে। যা নির্ধারিত সময়ের মধ্যেই আগামী মাসে সম্পন্ন হচ্ছে। এসব যুদ্ধজাহাজ তৈরির ফলে খুলনা শিপইয়ার্ডের ইতিহাসে এক নতুন ফলক সংযুক্ত হতে যাচ্ছে। পাশাপাশি প্রতিষ্ঠানটির কারিগরি দক্ষতাও আন্তর্জাতিক মানে পৌঁছতে সক্ষম হচ্ছে। অনুরূপভাবে বাংলাদেশ নৌবাহিনীও বর্তমান বিশ্বে অত্যাধুনিক যুদ্ধজাহাজসমৃদ্ধ নৌবহরের মালিকানা লাভ করতে যাচ্ছে। এর ফলে আমাদের বিশাল সমুদ্রসীমার রক্ষাসহ এর নিরাপত্তা বিধানও অধিকতর নিশ্চিত হবে বলে আশাবাদী ওয়াকিবাহল মহল।

Durjoy is guided missile corvette. there will be 5 of of its class. Two type056 corvette also will be built in BD after getting two of its class from china in 2015.
BN's actual plan is 16 corvette (5 Durjory class, 2 BNS dhaleshwari class, 2 South Korean class [type unknown- one of its class will join in 2016] and 7 Type056 class corvette)
Padma class is patrol craft and initially 12 of its class will be built, so far 4 of them has been delivered-another one will be delivered by the end of this year. According to AMI international report total 25 of its class will be built over the years.

Even your Nicobar-class has a similar displacement. All of the same roles as would any off-shore patrol vessel. Different users have different requirements for the role.

Patrol boats can be classified as both off-shore and in-shore. And for a patrol boat to be classified as an OPV, it must at least be sea-worthy enough to patrol off-shore out in the ocean. They are the smallest ships in a navy capable of such tasks.
