Tokyo Olympic 2021: Discussion and Update

But why in sports of China's strength, like weightlifting, numbers of athletes sent by each countries are limited to maximum 4 while in sports of US strength, like swimming, no such limits are imposed?

You just answered your own question in the bolded part! If the limits are imposed on certain events, it's because of the capacity of that particular event and not because of some rigging! China can send as many swimmers as it wishes. In the other events where the pool is limited because they can't have as many athletes competing it just overwhelms the sport, the rule applies to EVERY COUNTRY! Now please, Beijing, go tell your other buddy who seems to have a tough time understanding that concept.

So why doesn't China send more Athletes? It seems every other competition has 1 or 2 or more Chinese athletes competing!

Is it against the rules to send as many athletes as the games allow you? You realize there is a brutal qualification process, right? Or wait a minute, you're saying that the US and Australia have rigged the Olympics to send as many athletes as possible? Gimme a break and stop with the excuses and accept the realities of the games.

China has had numerous athletes performing in many events and have done very well. No one is taking their accomplishment away from them (as a matter of fact that 14 yrs. old girl Chinese sensation that scored 3 perfect 10 dives in a row set an unbeatable record I was blown away!) So please stop all the phony excuses if it wasn't for the blacks who weren't American then it's the US rigging the system and if it ain't that it's a dolphin engineered by a bunch if mad scientists as Michael Phelps it will never end.

Bottom line, the country that wins the MOST OVERALL MEDALS IS THE CHAMPION OF THE OLYMPICS PERIOD. Twist it and bring out all the excuses you want, it won't matter and the country with the most Gold will certainly get it's deserving award as well, but it ain't as impressive as the overall medal count. And please stop fabricating lies about the US rigging anything pertaining to the rules of the Olympics that is the most ridiculous thing I've heard to date!

@KAL-EL , what's next on this list of excuses, Aliens taken out of Area 52 and engineered as human athletes?

Wait? I already thought the aliens were there.

But seriously, There always seems to be some kind of an excuse around here.

China can send as many swimmers as it wishes.
Why China can't send as many weighlifters as she wishes? weightlifting is also one of the most popular sport and exercise in the world.
Do you mean countries can't find enough weighlifters to join this event? Are you serious?

The different between China and USA is getting smaller, only 2 Gold medals

I think it is due to the regulation made by weighlifting world body, only one representative in each competing Gold medal.

So it's not fair, a lot of talents coming from strong weighlifting countries lost their chance to compete in the Olympics, it's against the fundemental principle of the Olympics, their years even decades of hard training is denied before they even get a chance to start. China is the single biggest victim of this unfair rule.

yeah, they should add more events like: lifting with one leg, one arm or with your d1ck, etc.. like they do in swimming with multiple styles and shit. it's so unfair that 1 guy in swimming have so many chances to win medals compare to other sports. :D

Actually in swimming each style has several medals to give , while in weighlifting, no medals for clean jerk and snatch jerk individually, only total results count.

It’s simple really, use a 3, 2, 1 point system to assess the overall performances of each country. An the US has thoroughly outperformed the Chinese, even with a subpar Olympics.

But much better than 2016 Olympics when US and UK both ranked much higher than China.

Silver is runner up. Bronze is runner up of runner up. Only gold counts. Even 10 runner ups in tennis cannot equal a grand slam title.

The US women’s basketball team has won gold!

Jennifer Valente wins gold for the US in women’s track cycling!!!

The US is now tied with China at 38 golds with three more gold medal opportunities!

Yes there are athlete number quotas and they were curiously reduced for sports China is good in while being expanded in US strengths.

So a silver is worth 2x bronze but a gold is worth only 1.5x silver? LMAO what a joke.

US also has asthma patients and adhd while likely China has none.

Remember, the IOC tried to remove Ping Pong from the Olympic.

Chinese dominance cannot justify removal of table tennis from Olympics

Chinese dominance seems the only apparent reason for the possible removal of table tennis from the Olympics. China has won all gold medals in Olympic table tennis games except in 1992 when Swedish player Jan-Ove Waldner won the men’s singles at the Barcelona Olympic Games and in 2004 when South Korean player Ryu Seung-Min won the men's singles at the Athens Olympic Games. Even the use of larger balls and adoption of an 11-point scoring system did not change China’s overwhelming dominance in the sport.
