TOKYO, July 25 (Reuters) - China's Lijun Chen won the gold medal in the men's 67kg weightlifting event at the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday.

Great day for Team USA! 4 golds and ten medals, and we’ve barely even touched our strongest events.

Boxing judging is a s..t show. Our guy lost to a brit today on a split decision. One judge always voted thrice in the brits favor even though the other judges favored the Indian in the 2nd round. How can 5 judges watching the same bout have such different perceptions ? He voted 10-8 against the Indian while 3 other judges voted 10 -9 in the opposite direction. Even the British commentator sounded embarrassed at the end.
And 38 year old mery kom won her 1st round. In this round a American judge was the only guy who voted against her in 2 rounds 10-8 , while others favored her. How can judges have such large difference in perception .

US men’s basketball team is a mess. The delayed NBA season allowing for almost no practice time, so many new players, new coaches, injuries to All Stars that would have been on the team. We can’t just throw a team together and expect to win.

Normally, an Indian medal would be a 20 page affair here on PDF. But Indian Brahman on this or Bharat Rak shut keep their heads in the sand as they hate a Chini Dalit showing them off. They value their caste ahead of their own country.

I had some exchange with some India guy about sports, Indians think very poorly of Chinese athletic capabilities, they believe Chinese are just good at jumping up and down, that's it.

In almost all "all popular sports", India is better than China.

They mentioned "cricket", and I thought they were talking about a game that two insects fighting each other while people can bet money on one of them...

Once track and field starts the U.S. will dominate. That's pretty much how it goes every Olympics.

We'll see how home advantage helps Japan, in 2008 Beijing Olympics China's home advantage helped China big time, China in the end beat US in gold medal rankings by a huge margin.
