West Bengal doesn't need to be a part of Bangladesh. The people of WB will always thwart any attempts by the Hindutva, I have faith in them; Our Bengali brothers and Sisters.

Bangladesh will benefit alot by having friendly relations with a secular and hindutva free WB, they will be a wall between us and the BJP menace.

Now if only Mamata auntie would give us our share of Teesta water, it would be a step in the right direction from their side.

This is where you are wrong.

Anti Hindutva sentiment is strong only in Kolkata. In the hinterland where Hindus are the majority - Hindutva is stronger than ever before.

I am seeing it differently.

The merger of West Bengal with Bangladesh will mean the following -
1. The emancipation of at least 20 to 30 million Muslims
2. The freedom of the entire North east. They will no longer have to submit to Hindu rule from Delhi.
3. Many Islamophobes will leave West Bengal making it a better place to live in.

West Bengali Muslims would be the happiest, for obvious reasons.

It will be good.

Well merger is a good solution too, but it is an extreme step. Hindutva folks will fight this tooth and nail.

While we are building up to that step, I suggest Muslims in WB (as well as TMC supporter secular Hindus) build businesses that Bangladeshis can patronize. Our collective buying power in Kolkata numbers in the Billions of dollars - I'm positive.

I don't care whether these are Saree/Jewelry shops, ethnic wear outlets, Halal Biryani Restaurants. Curio shops, Book stalls or even Hotels/Clinics/Hospitals. You build them, they will come from Bangladesh and patronize them. Just make a list to identify the preferred shops (using TMC or Halal symbols if necessary) and ensure that Bangladeshis don't patronize Hindutva supporters (mostly Marathi, Gujarati and Bihari Hindu Banyas in Kolkata). For that matter, also ensure that a list is made for Hindutva supporting businesses, this should be common knowledge.

You got to hit these people in the pocketbooks, that is where it will hurt.

Going out in the streets, screaming and burning tires does not enable change. Financials do.

In this manner, Muslims in WB (as well as anti-Hindutva folks) will get more business and become richer and more stable in their income.

As long as My Muslim brothers send me my fix of Biriyani on there festival dates- I am absolutely for it. But Merger is not gonna happen you and I know that!

Don't need merger, I'm content with south Indians and WB being moderate and secular. Among Indians I hold Malayalis in the highest regard, good, sensible people as are most people from down south.

Yes Malayalees are the actual Jewel of Indias Crown- People from TN are not too bad either- Very secular in thought as well- I remember in the 90's we used to call our Driver as Driver and other help as servants- The next generation are being taught to either call them with respect-(Uncle/Name-etc and they are not called servants anymore-They are called helpers)-- I see a lot of change, slow but it is happening and its begin taught at home by the elders.

It's all about education, the behaviour of South Indians is backed by their higher literacy rate when compared to the rest of India and from what I hear the northern state school curriculum is weak. The more educated you are, the more you think by yourself instead of eating up propaganda like a rabid dog, hence most people who use their brains to think and make up their own minds aren't zealots/fanatics.

Dont care about ten cent film actresses craving attention and relevance. These people see jumping on the anti-Muslim Bandwagon as a meal-ticket. The more talentless you are in Bollywood to stand alone on your own merit, the more vocally anti-Muslim and Sanghi you are...

These people would eat dogs to please Sanghis...Kangna (a has been) and her hapless looking sister - ideal Sanghi mouthpieces. Very fashionable.

NPR has a recent story about these people, I'm surprised the RSS (HSSUS) hasn't been banned in the US yet - it is a full on racist organization based on hate of non-Hindus.
