Why english is optional in India and Bangladeshi cirricullum?

it was seen that due to english many kids drop out from schools, the result was poor, so the govt removed english.

the corporate culture in India is very new, so now ppl who want to learn better english moved to private schools.


remember govt schools are not for elites, its for common poor ppl also.

These were pretty much true since 1971, but I am talking about medium of language for govt. run SSC and HSC exams specifically. Before 1971 there was an option to use either English or Bangla, so one could opt for English, study English text books and then take the tests using English questions and answer everything in English. This option was taken away in 1971, only Bangla was left as the language medium. I think if I am not wrong this is still true.

Also, official language for courts and govt. offices was made Bengali since 1971, whereas before 1971 it was English.

I heard from some one, that India uses local language for medium of instruction in states that have disturbance/insurgency to keep their population down, suppressed and isolated from the world, at least Kashmir has this situation, whereas most normal states have strong emphasis on English. I guess using RAW and their RAWamy League, they implemented their policy on Bangladesh as it became vassal state after 1971 and we are still following RAWamy traitors policy and have not been able to change it yet.

The cadet colleges have adopted english medium since 2003. I don't know if it 's been allowed for other institutions as well.
