Timeline Gujarat 2002

I am sorry that this kind of fishing for exculpatory facts seems necessary. Just looking up the Telinipara riots would have resolved these overblown doubts.
I was not fishing here. There were some things that caught my attention. Considering that I wasn't around when it happened it was an obvious thing to do.

For your information, the SIT was not handpicked by the Supreme Court. Raghavan was, and he was given the rest of the team by the Gujarat Government, which was asked to provide staff by a court directive.

This same SIT was so far from the satisfaction of the Court that appointed it, that the Court was compelled to appoint an amicus curiae to go into the facts that it claimed to have established. Does that say nothing to you?
If Mr Raghavan was not happy with the report he would have expressed his unhappiness isn't it. Infact in the first place how did the report was even compile without the Head of SIT signing it. Hard to digest. Now the only way what you are saying fits if Mr. Raghavan is another hindutva fanatic. Is this what we are saying here.

Incidentally, regarding a somewhere dramatic ending line, Pulak Sanyal (Pulluck Sanyal), an associate of Ram Chatterjee, said that for the Muslims, there would only two countries to go to: Pakistan and Kabristan.

Communal minds seem to move on the same sets of tram lines.
The lines were totally uncalled for Joe. Just because someone doesn't agree with you on the accounts of this events doesn't mean they are communal or wants Muslims out of this country. My point was that if you realize that the System is totally fucked up and can't do you Justice then you leave this country or form your country/System. That line can apply to anyone. Being from Bengal you would know how the Naxalite movement started and what their aims are. This is exactly what happens when we see things from a prism with pre decided notions.

Read the eye-witness accounts gathered by the independent fact-finding bodies.

I would like to know who this independent fact finding body is.

By whom is the former given a pass? We are not talking abstractions here, we are talking about individual members of the forum, about you and I.

The same blunt rebuttal applies to your mention of the Bombay riots of 92; where was the opportunity?

The main reason why Modi attracts more negative attention than the people behind Bombay 92 or the Sikh riots of 84 is because of the frequency of hagiographic threads about Modi.

Think about it.

Nobody issues doom-filled pronouncements against Modi out of the blue. Every hostile comment that you, or other Modicrats find objectionable is in response to a fawning, sycophantic thread about how he is the best thing since the idea of sliced bread.

When was the last time, for instance, that you initiated a thread about the Sikh riots? Or even about Bombay 92?

Perhaps instead of attacking those who are critical of Modi, what is needed now is some introspection.

It seems to be a pretty mixed up post. You seem to have issues not so much with the riots themselves but because "Modicrats" have a positive opinion of him and are not shy to express it.

Would that be correct?

Now, perhaps you could consider the fact that so many people like Modi because of the governance and decision making that we have seen for a decade, that they don't want to be forever remain stuck to a single issue, that they don't want to see the pathetic "lunj punj" government that we have seen for decades, that we want to see effective decision making, a purposeful nation, a country on the move that India was during NDA-1 (1999 to 2004).

That we are fed up of the patronage based country, we want to see India become a meritocracy that is definitely not possible in a Congress rule if the past is any indication.

It is not about that riot at all that some people keep harping on while forgetting so many other issues.

For me, the fact that thousands of lives have been saved due to no riot in a decade is more important than the supposed lack of response for three days.

I will let Supreme court and our LEAs handle that issue and move on to issues that are effecting us NOW, on a daily basis.
