Time to warn Taiwan secessionists and their fomenters: war is real: Global Times editorial

Two accounts from Greece (apparently) that was created month apart are trolling on China-related threads.

Bit suspicious don’t you say?
Not at all. Greece has traditionally excellent relations with China. We like and respect Chinese history and the Chinese people in general. But in this matter,I personally have to disagree. It seems like a typical cold war Communist warmongering.

I don't know if the mods can somehow see it,but Apollon lives in South Greece and I live in the North.

The 3 gorges dam of course is not nuclear proof. Infact it can easily be destroyed by normal thermobaric weapons. Once its breached, the river rips the entire structure down.

You obviously have no idea how physics work.

And yes, we have a say in asia, after all Europe is one of the most powerful economies on the planet.

China wont touch Taiwan.
LOL,EU is so powerful that you need US soldiers stationed in your land to defend russia,so powerful indeed. Your economy is full of financial bubble and overpriced service sector, which is irrelevant in a war. We can rise our currency rate to double today easily by selling our 4 trillion us asset and still have a trade surplus, but we choose not to do it in a hurry, time is on our side in the end.

Not that I want to see a war break out. But the idea that the Taiwan conflict is about Communism vs Democracy is absolutely wrong. If China was fully democratic, it would've invaded Taiwan a long time ago because the Chinese people are in full support of wanting reunification.

To the Chinese psyche, this is an issue about reunifying a divided country and removing the humiliation of past weaknesses. If the US or Japan think sacrificing millions of people are worth it to protect Taiwan, they can take that chance. But don't think for a second that China is not ready to take on a monumental effort to recover its lost province.

However, hopefully all sides will stick to the red lines that have kept the peace so war is avoided. That's my hope.

Does China have the capacity to fight a coalition of USA,Japan,South Korea,Taiwan,Britain,Australia and maybe Vietnam and Philippines too? It would be a good match, you gotta admit.

Sure. Does South Korea want to gamble with it's existence since there's a land connection to China via North Korea and North Korea has a mutual defense treaty with China? They have nowhere to run if they start losing. Maybe they aren't suicidal.

Does anyone else besides US have power projection capabilities? No? Then it's really a 1 on 1.

Ok do it. Sell it. I remember one of my friends telling me when he was in China for business,he had so many 100 Yuan backnotes because of the currency exchange rate, that Chinese would stare in surprise. Go,fix your currency. Come on.

Do you know the size of 3 Gorges Da and what it is made of?

Steel reinforced concrete.

45 meters at the thinnest point (top).

110 meters at the thickest (bottom).

Do you know what penetration the heaviest bunker buster bomb has? 6 meters.

Do you know the range of a bunker buster bomb? 9 km, has to be delivered by a plane. It weighs 2100 kg. It cannot be missile delivered.

Do you know how far Three Gorges is from Taiwan? 1500 km. 2x longer than combat radius of their longest ranged plane. They would need to carry drop tanks even for a suicide mission, then a 2100 kg bomb, then nothing else.

They would need to fly 10 suicide missions into China, with no air to air missiles, all without being shot down, all hitting exactly the same spot.

And the dam can just be drained beforehand or it could be the dry season anyways.

You explain in great detail. But I doubt it works for creatures with low IQ. The poor animals continue their dream of destroying the dam, which helps it to orgasm.

Ha ha ha :partay:

What I'm trying to tell you is that if you do this, you will create more animosity, suspicion and break relations with all the Far East countries. South Korea is already against you because of your support for North Korea. Imagine if you destroy or take Taiwan. They will normally think they are next and that will create a climate of war in the area for ages.

Greece and Europe is not your enemy. We have quite good relations and i think it should stay that way.

I dont think China will risk war over Taiwan. The status quo should stay like it is.

Nice anecdotes from a "friend". Meanwhile US media tells me that children are being abandoned out of poverty in Greece.

Should I trust US media on this?

That's a funny story. People were staring because China is now a cashless society. No one carries around cash, and certainly not that much.

Do you have any idea how rich China's urban centers are? Definitely more wealth and luxury than most European cities.

China certainly doesn't see Europe as its enemy and stays out of Europe's business. It's Europeans who are constantly sticking their nose in Chinese matters like this thread and other threads.

US conquered 1/3 of Mexican land, did entire Latin America fear they were next?

US conquered Philippines and kept it as a colony for 50 years, was anyone afraid then?

Did US care what other countries thought when it conquered Mexico and the Philippines?

That's some stories that circulated apparently back in 2012 on the worst period of the crisis and it's not abandoning or selling. The foreign media somehow used to portray crisis Greece as a central African country or Venezuela, but I can assure you that is far from the truth.

As for my friend,is this so hard to believe? You know the difference in the exchange rate of the Yuan and the Euro.

Taiwan has been a part of China since the 1600s, before there was even a US. This is about national reunification not conquering new lands.

The exchange rate is 6:1. It isn't 100:1.

GDP per Capita of Greece and China are comparable. Wages are also comparable. It's not like Greece has 5x or 10x higher income.

You also realize that in China, everyone pays with phones and cash is only still accepted due to law?

It was back in the early 2010s

Different times, man! And way different region of the world when it comes to Mexico 😂
