May 11, 2013: A total of 14.8 million voters voted for PML-N candidates; the PML-N bagging nearly 33 percent of the popular votes. The PML-N’s current tally stands at 147 general seats, 35 reserved and 6 minorities for a total of 188.

June 5, 2013: Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif took oath as the 18th prime minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

1st World Record: On March 26, 2015, the first-ever shipment of 147,000 cubic feet of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) arrived at the Karachi anchorage. Initially, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources was not willing to disclose either the price paid or the buyer (claiming that the private sector has imported). Later on, the media discovered that the payment for the first shipment was made by Pakistan State Oil (PSO). Later on, the media was told that the price paid was $8 per mmBTU (FOB).

As per data maintained by Waterborne Energy, Inc the price of spot LNG stood at around $6.90 per mmBTU. For the record, we overpaid around $3 million for our first shipment – and along the way created a new World Record of buying the most expensive LNG in that timeframe.

Admittedly, the Government of Pakistan is obligated to abide by the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority Rules (PPRA) under which the government has to call in international tenders. Admittedly, international players can play their own games and overcharge our government. The best for the government, therefore, would be to get out of the LNG buying business and let Pakistan’s private sector buy-and negotiate-its own LNG purchases.

For the record, since that first shipment PSO has bought an additional six shipments and overpaid around $18 million.

2nd World Record: On May 5, 2015, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power Park, Pakistan’s first-ever solar power generation plant. The first 100MW project is owned by the Government of Punjab (through Bank of Punjab) and put up in record time by the turnkey contractor Tebian Electric Apparatus Xinjiang SunOasis Co.

Admittedly, the government of Punjab was in a rush and when your customer is in a rush contractors charge you more – a lot more. For the record, New Mexico, USA, is buying solar power at 8.5 cents/kWh; Andhra Pradesh at 10.28 cents/kWh; Brazil at 8.7 cents/kWh and Dubai at 5.98 cents/kWh.

Lo and behold, our very own National Electric Power Regulatory Authority’s determination of Upfront Generation Tariff for Solar PV Power Plants is 18.28 cents/kWh (Years 1-10) – our 2ndWorld Record.

3rd World Record: On June 4, 2015, the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metrobus was inaugurated. The 22.6 kilometre Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) system was completed in a record time of 15 months at a reported cost of Rs44.94 billion.

Admittedly, the Government of Pakistan was in a rush and when your customer is in a rush contractors charge you more – a lot more. As per data maintained by the New York-based Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) here’s the per kilometre costs: Ahmedabad (India) BRT $2.4 million per km; Changzhou (China) BRT $4 million per km; Beijing (China) $4.8 million per km; Paris (France) $7 million per km; Istanbul (Turkey) $8.8 million per km.

Lo and behold, Lahore BRT was built at a cost of $11 million per km. On June 4, 2015, we created a new World Record; Rawalpindi-Islamabad BRT at $20 million per km.

.
The cost per km for metro also has to account for construction costs being higher every year. Maybe this is why the figures are so large.
But the other points make me think what PML-N has been doing all this time.

. . .
Also where is the link to the study where it says it cost so and so for India to build per km?

I have this link: http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d01984.pdf It says a mile can cost $7m and upto 33m. This was back in 2001, so with inflation, it may be higher today. The study was done by US.

.
about 3rd World Record... the Rawalpindi section is Elevated which raised the cost of it From Peshawar Morr till Jinnah Avenue is trenched which is easily to be converted into Metro Train in future as NESPAK also told about this... where as other countries which have BRT don't have elevated tracks neither they can be converted into Metro Train track

about 2nd World Record i.e Quaid e Azam Solar Power Plant This plant was build by the Chinese as an investment obviously it will charge greater till some years did Pakistan made that Power Plant from it's budget? Did USA and other aso build that power plant from foreign assistance?? I don't think so

here is the Unit cost of the Quaid e Azam solar power plant

Capital Bull Shit

Aug 02, 2015: A total of 7.6 million voters voted for PTI candidates; the PTI bagging nearly 17 percent of the popular votes. The PTI’s current tally stands at 35 general seats.

Election results shattered delusions. Party leader Imran Khan, suffered serious bruises to his ego and possible brain damage as a direct result. Later on he failed to keep his promises on most fronts and as coming days would show, tried his best to stay relevant even after being rejected by the nation.

1st World Record: PTI, the most righteous party in the history of mankind, started public agitation against election results. Billions of dollars were wasted as a direct result of this non-sense. Businesses suffered, except for the news businesses. Delusional party supporters attacked national buildings and brought shame to the entire nation. IK denied any responsibility for attack on Radio Pakistan, but some corrupt bastard leaked IK's conversation in which he was instructing his deputy to attack Radio Pakistan. The only person who seemed more delusional than IK himself was Tahir-ul-Padri al-maroof Candadvi Mulla. The combined forces of these two leaders held thousands of people hostage in the capital.

Lo and behold, the election commission eventually declared the elections generally free and fair. But the justice system which was A-AWESOME when a government minister was sacked, had now become a part of purana Pakistan.

2nd World Record: The only province with a PTI government still lacks in education, health and all other metrics. The projects shown in presentations are assumed to be real life working projects by PTI fan boys. Meanwhile ACTUAL, ON-GROUND projects are continuously bashed by jialas and yoothias for being expensive.

Lo and behold, ACTUAL work is being done on ground and projects like metros, solar parks, wind parks are in operation. Huge projects in coal, nuclear, hydro are under construction.

3rd World Record: While the nation suffered under terrorism, the glorious leader Imran Khan kept handing on to his delusions of a peaceful solution. Ultimately 132 innocents paid with their lives and the glorious leader changed his stance. Instead of guiding the nation towards a strong united response, IK helped distort the discourse.

Lo and behold, after the operation was launched and it seemed popular with the masses, PTI started changing its stance. But it was not too long before IK had another brain fart and went back to his delusional stance of negotiating with people who had guns up his arse.

Million dollar question is that PTI's preference is 'dhandli' or to be more precise 'organized dhandli'.
Daily, media educate us about mega blunders, corruption and ineptness of govt., why than such issues are of no importance to PTI but only 'dhandli'?
What about the salaries they took, as being selected in opposition to PMLN? or the funds and charities they collected from overseas for a promise of new Pakistan?

Imran khan came my city a few years ago. Dinner with him was some $100-200.

the guy doesn't work, so how does he pay for his bani gala expenses, helicopter etc etc?

Even not for profit charities pay tens of thousands of dollars to CEOs. Imran can willfully take the said money to pay for expenses because they were "for the betterment of Pakistan."
