Now compare with the dead leopard in OP.

Yes compare again. Look at the spots and also the underside fur is nowhere close as thick as the snow leopard and neither is the tail.

The dead leopard seems too short for a ordinary Leopard . The fur depends on the temperature. If the temperature is bit hot than big cats do shed their hair.

I don't blame those who killed the leopards, i blame the government. When these leopards kill goats of poor farmers, of course they are going to poison them. Government should have started a scheme to compensate the farmers, and pay them twice the price of lost livestock.

below id the range of snow leopard. I guess Abbottabad should fall under this range

Is it the latest mapping? I say because I come from an area where I witnessed lots of snowfall in my childhood but leopards were nowhere to be found.

Unless snow leopard is known to shed it's thick fur in hotter conditions it's merely a speculation.

those who kill cats cannot be called muslim... therefore killing leopards is haraam.

in today's world, the spread of capitalism has led to drastic increase in dogs, with cats going to the point of extinction... already in india, the smaller cats and leopards are almost extinct.

i cry every time i read of cats being killed.

only a idiot would think of killing leopard because he is losing some money !!! if the farmer is so keen on this issue, he should be in a dilemma and tell the government that he is bound by religion and sensibility not to harm the leopard, so the government must compensate.

leopards and most other wild cats are shy but their numbers have been reducing drastically.

Don't be overdramatic. And don't declare fatwas on your own.
There are farmers who own two goats and one cow and support their entire family on it.
I mentioned a solution which you completely overlooked. Let the leopards eat what they want, just compensate the farmers fairly.

9 Different Subspecies of Leopard, Which are Near Threatened - TurtleHurtled

The resourceful and adaptable common leopard (local name Guldar, Tendwa, Cheetah) while not so secretive and elusive as the snow leopard inhabits the lower mountain ranges of northern Pakistan. The common leopard’s range extends from the Himalayan forest regions to the broken and hilly mountainous country of Baluchistan and Sind Kohistan. The better-forested areas of the Himalaya, particularly the Galliat areas of N.W.F.P are the last stronghold of the leopard in Pakistan. Elsewhere, the common leopard is extremely rare, having been hunted almost to the point of extinction as a trophy by hunters and as a pest by locals. It is generally believed that the sub species found in Pakistan is Panthera pardus fusca. However, it is possible that two sub species are found in Pakistan demarcated by the river Indus. To the east of river Indus, in Azad Kashmir, Kaghan valley, Galliat areas and Murree hills the Indian Leopard (Panthera pardus fusca) is found. The second sub species, the Persian Leopard (Pathera pardus saxicolor) is thought to inhabit the regions west of the Indus in Swat, Dir, Indus Kohistan, and Baluchistan.

Disgusting act. These animals are beautiful. Ok, they kill livestock, but there are cheap ways of scaring them off rather than killing them. Idiotic jahil people.

I'm not sure if that is a snow Leopard, which is a national animal of Pakistan.
No, its not the national animal. Markhor is.

It's not the peoples job to take care of the leopards. They have more important things to worry about, like surviving.

that is their own mistake... surviving from day to troublesome day rather than have launched a revolution decades back and made life easy for themselves.

kisne kaha tha unko ki ghareebi ki zindagi jiyen??

cats are supremely respected in islami history... hazrat muhammad was a great admirer of cats and the following history saw the traditional west-asian/african respect for the cat continued in muslim societies.

According to folk tradition, the prophet Muhammad cut off his coat sleeve because he had to stand up for prayer and did not want to disturb his cat who was napping on his sleeve.

yes, quite sad that... and leopards too... russia government has started a recovery program for leopards and the below photo is putin's visit to a persian leopard...
