Chotte Mian,
Can you really cure fanboy syndrome with intellectual discourse?
He can stay stupid for eternity for all I care.

Chotte Mian,
Can you really cure fanboy syndrome with intellectual discourse?
I perfectly agree with you.thank you for your non-hostile answer and for letting us know of the internal compromises within tcs.
i agree that there will be progressive people within tcs or the larger indian it industry who find difficulty in finding time, money or resources to realize your innovative ideas not just in computing but in other technological areas too.
however, i will ask you to consider this... every idea follow-up need not require a big amount of money... when i wrote a basic microkernel-style operating system some years ago, i did it on a ordinary pc which ran linux... all i needed on this was the bcc compiler and bochs x86 virtual machine.
similarly, to design a microprocessor, if a small group can pool approx 1.25 lakhs, they can buy a basic fpga board ( xilinx or altera ) and test their design.
the catch is that one must begin designing something first, and that generally starts with scratches in a book.
see, i didn't know x86 assembly language... i learnt it from a borrowed book and experimented within the "debug" program in windows... six months later, i had written the os... it had unix-style signals asynchronous messaging, synchronous message passing and timers... it was a basic os that i meant to expand and there was a little group i had collected.
so money is not everything.
I perfectly agree with you.
Mostly 12 - 16 hrs of time is taken up in our job which we cannot leave as because of financial commitments accumulated. The family also takes some time and not much time is left on hand to work on personal goals.
Every person will have their own way to use their day but most of them fall in the above set.
What to analyze? You worked in a media company for a year, couldn't deliver, quit the job, and joined PDF, an online internet forum that neither pays, nor asks you to perform. CooL!!
You should speed up, I mean..it should come before the end of the world, no?
So, are you waiting for some 'Shubh Muhurat' to start your work?
Btw, I am also designing a Moon rocket that can send 20 men on a return trip to Moon for just Rs.20, space exploration, space mining, space tourism, space farming, energy source, space garbage disposal.....it will change the world you know!
People work in every part of the world, not everyone is fortunate to live comfortably without working (and daydreaming).
Another minor question, how do you feed yourself or the source of income, since you do not have any active job, neither does Indian government has any socialist scheme as rich as you can afford an internet connection, and rant on forums?
Chotte Mian,
Can you really cure fanboy syndrome with intellectual discourse?
However, those who really have such ideas outside their jobs, and the conviction to execute it; will always find a way to work on it.
couldn't deliver??
i was in the process of initiating a employees union there, which would have probably been the first union in the indian software/services industry... had to fight with the managers and all... had ambitious plans for it... i should have remained i suppose, at least for the enlightenment of some pdf members.
i certainly delivered, i certainly performed.
didn't understand your 20 rupees funda though.
no, we separate "work" from "job"... everyone must do rightful/reasonable work, no one must do job ( and make a show of it )... nothing too difficult to understand
oh, i manage.
mogambo khush hua !!
well, reducing my time on pdf starting today... sunday seemed shubh.
tata consultancy services ( tcs )??
it is a software coolie company which last december removed 35,000+ people in a cruel manner just because the company doesn't have money to pay them salaries and so is downsizing.
and what innovation?? did tcs design a operating system or microprocessor or a new kind of computer or a new internet architecture or new kind of storage device or new method or computing?? what have they innovated??
So you did everything other than the work you were being paid for, and got fired, right?
"Work" must do some kind of value addition to the society and for the worker, even painters and poets need to create economic value for their work, social workers also earn while doing some value addition to the society.
"Daydreaming" doesn't really qualify as "Work".
firing someone like this would have been injustice ( which i was fighting against to begin with ) and i don't know what my reaction would have been.
if i had been fired, i would have said so.
"from each according to capacity, to each according to need"... "those who produce, can consume".
among the few on pdf who understand that is me.
my sincere advice for you is to change your attitude... you should think whether you are actually contributing to society ( local, external ) or just making a cultural performance.
the most struggle you would have seen is mugging up for exams and something about jobs.
go join progressive groups, at least the aap.
change your company in pdf.
i have nothing to say on this anymore... i have been polite in replying to all this nonsensical hostility.
join a progressive group this week and inform me.
They didn't? That must be one hell of an employee friendly media company that let you continue with your personal goal of forming an union inside it at their cost.
let's agree to agree that no such out-of-the-world processor or OS is coming from you EVER.
Progressive or not, AAP is far less delusional than you for sure, just see how they have come to power in Delhi UT and enjoying all the booties that come along with it.
For me, just let me know how you feed yourself and your family, and I might join your "Progressive group" to live comfortably without working.
at their cost??
should i have let the managers treat so many employees like bonded laborers and drones whose pains one need not be sympathetic to??
forming a union is a international right, especially in a highly exploitative situation like the indian services/software industry.
ibm-usa has employee union but ibm-india does not... something is wrong with you people that you don't want justice and equality... maybe it is cultural.
okay, i admit... drdo will demonstrate this week the hack-proof crash-proof operating system that they promised in 2010 and infosys will demonstrate this week to the world its radical new processor... and you are the chief designer in both projects... and i am but a humble onlooker.
hmm, you should inform aap's supporters like swara bhaskar and vishal dadlani that aap is as vulgar as bjp.
huzoor-e-aala, who was stopping you from being in salaried employment whilst participating in real betterment of your society and the world at large??
or are you are scared to voice any opinion but the rightist??
decency prevents me from making other comments.
i agree with many pakistani members, most indian members should stop coming to pdf.
and i hope all members read our exchange.
Yes, at their cost, they certainly weren't paying you salary to form an union.
And what you did then? You left those fools who might have danced with you at the prospects of forming an union and stop working then (that's what unions do in India).
AGAIN ASKING, WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING? You are free to come up with another fantastic story.
five pages of hate campaign against me just because i questioned the capability of the overall indian computer industry.
