Three Different Radars Recorded The SU-30 Kill

I heard with my own two ears General Asif Ghafoor say that the second INDIAN pilot died in the hospital. It was on an ARY show I think.....Does no one remember that??? How can something like that be ignored???

No. You are totally mistaken. He never said "in the hospital". The interview, you are referring to, was given by DG(ISPR), on March 5, to Kamran Khan (Dunya News). In this interview, his exact words were:

"Un kay do tayyaray maar giraye. Aik pilot ki death hui. Aik hamari arrest main tha, jiss ko release ker diya."
(Shot their two aircraft. One pilot died. One was arrested by us, which was released.)

In this program, he never said any pilot died in our custody. It implies his assumption that the pilot of the second aircraft, which fell in IOK, died on board.

On a somber note, we need to make sure we don't get lax from this victory and prepare for the world cup that is about to come. @MastanKhan has some input on this. We should be building up our numbers and strength at the fastest pace possible and in the most realistic and effective manner.

Not confirming, or denying what you are saying, but this is why he shouldn't be doing Pressers. A Col. should be doing it. This way, additions & deletions can be better managed.

This.

PAF needs to maintain its qualitative edge in tactics, organization, and morale. Furthermore, PAF needs to make sure its BVR parity is well maintained vis-a-vis the Saffron bandits.

AIM-120D for our F-16s, and PL-15 for our JF-17s would be ideal. But easier said than done!

Lastly, we REALLY need the robust and advanced air defence network protecting our skies. Pakistan is severely lacking in long range air defence system.

Next few years are VERY sensitive. As india will be inducting Rafaels, Meteor BVRs, and S-400...while Pakistan will be going through austerity measures and hence no funds for major purchases for the air force. This will provide perfect chance for humiliated indians to try and average their age old humiliation at our hands.

Babar and Ra'ad cruise missiles might become weapons of choice for our military response in case PAF wanted to play safe from distance ;)

PAF needs to push for used f16s, aim 9x and aim120D..this si the least they should get out of the curent afghan situation

I agree with you.

And for those members who say that we have to get out of our love affair of Western Equipment (F-16's), well, Operation: Swift Retort proved otherwise.

The JF-17 is a great jet, and the Block III is gonna be even better - but that is Future Tense. The Block III hasn't even gone through trials. Hell, they haven't even picked out a Radar for it (to date). So we need to get something heavy, that's proven sure shot & what better than Fighting Falcon that has proved itself in our Air Force over & over (for decades).

I'm not undermining the idea that the JF-17 (had) got kills on the 27th of Feb., but the enemy still fears the F-16 - that's why they are still crying foul after all these months.

If the US was to approve such a Sale, how many of you would for and/or against the idea...?

I would take 18 block 52s C&Ds and 36 block 32/42s anytime along with AIM C7(dont think we will get D) and 9X if offered. I dont think 70s would be offered and neither should we be getting them. 3 billion would give us a 3 squadrons in 2 yrs time which will be ready to tango with any dhoti that wishes to expose itself. My main concern remains it will not now be offered!

AIM120D is a beauty, an absolute beast , it and meteor go toe to toe with each being specialist of a different situation,
The only problem is India is highly unlikely to buy ruski stuff in the future , and now they're just delaying their fighter program since if it is completed and they chose one sure seller , then the other sellers would be open to Pakistan , by delaying no is open to sell to Pakistan,

If the Turkish hurjet does indeed get EJ2000 , it will effectively be able to carry the same amount of payload as a F16( possibly more ) and thus if a fighter variant is offered ( compared to trainer fighter) then it could be plausible to even partner in it

What i meant was so you agree with me about what i have written in this post (my post #232)

Yes..i agree to what you wrote!

@Armchair

i thought long and hard why the "Suspense" why not open up immediately? i have concluded the concept behind it is "Never fight the way your enemy fights". Indians have set a new norm now we can not stand down..before 26th Feb it was bluff...but the bluff was called on 26th Feb. we as a state can not forever stand up and keep guard up we cant sustained or afford it.

So a new strategy is put in place very hawkish but discrete..main goal is "destroy enemies will to fight" how to do it is what you are seeing ...and much more to come.

Hum is gubaray say hawa nikal dain gay! bohat jald!

PL15 range is comparable and as such PAF will get PL15s rather than AIM120D. HOWEVER if Meteor is sold to IAF it will become difficult to argue for the US why they do not want to sell it to PAF.
Regarding the Hur jet, it is a trainer and light attack fighter with Max thrust 19200kg. It will never be able to lift as much as the 16.

Agreed ,
Yet I heard the Turks are adding EJ2000 to it ( typhoon engine)
Would two of those not give it more thrust ?

The best thing I like about the 120D is that the launch platform can just fire and forget , while awacs or even ground radars can paint the target, due to the missiles data link

Man you know much more than what we have heard or read.....

The next phase will be soon as things cooking up...the way they are procuring hardware with special emphasis on long range air engagements....ultimate revenge and score settling attempt.

Decision makers here also looking for quick stop-gap alternatives ...we may hear some sort of news till the end of September, 2019...
