Threat to Kolkata Port Forces Highest Alert

Nope not the Kolkata Police!The only unit which s even remotely similar to the QRT in Kolkata Police is the Special Action Force,an unit which is armed with only with the early model INSAS rifles and doesn't have a decent Level-III standard B.P.J. in it's inventory.Our city is in dire need of a decent SWAT like unit.I have got serious doubts on the K.P.'s ability to prevent any Mumbai style mass attack .The first and the foremost thing for the K.P. is to establish a large unit styled after the Mumbai Police QRT(I am not even talking about the Force One commandos) if they are serious abut the protection of the ordinary Kolkatans!!

Thank god in NE Army participates in almost any anti terrorist operations. Each state here has highly trained police cammandos. So in case of a Mumbai like attack, terrorist will gunned down quickly.

How did her party recently won byelection in urban kolkata where unlike rural regions people have greater access to news and information. My friends there told me that Husband of tmc candidate is a well known goon still the educated city folks voted for them.

I will give you a detailed vote sharing later as I am on mobile now, but didi has own because of the division of opposition votes; the same reason that has helped CPM win elections in the past. The larger share of opposition votes are getting devided into Congress, CPM & BJP, both Congress & CPM has some captive votebank being old & established parties, and BJP is making good progress here, but their local leadership, candidates, organizational strength, and grassroot level campaign, all are very weak in Bengal, in last loksabha election I voted for BJP without even knowing the name of the candidate because BJP was invisible, they are that weak here. All these things matter in elections.
