But if a lady wants to hide her face, she should be allowed.. not forced.. but if she is asked to show her face to reveal identity in front of the law, she shouldn't demand that she be allowed to keep her face covered..

About burqa, if you cede an inch they ( pro-burqa awaam ) will ask for a foot.

And this is what will happen :

What kind of a fucked up thread is this?

The OP is serious in his beliefs, even if they are wrong.

I do not care he is from Bangladesh and this forum has strict conditions on religious discussions.

I agree. I have reported the thread and hopefully the mods will close it.

A waste of my download limit.

This fool woman should migrate to Saudia if she wants to wear the full burqa. Oh wait, even the Saudis have been talking about the burqa ( abaya ) being a cultural element and nothing to do with Islam, therefore not compulsory for women to wear it.

And she brought in Nelson Mandela much like another NATO tool, Tawakkol Karman, who had called Mohamed Morsi as the Nelson Mandela of the Arab world. Mr. Mandela must be turning in his grave.

Fact is that this woman, Sara, are tools bred to create hate Islam among the Western peoples. Look at how the mullahs and mullans find refuge in the West when they get pressured by Muslim-majority socialist countries.

Shame on this woman for spoiling the name of Islam !!

And our @Luffy 500 is so naughty with the poll. :D

.
@Luffy 500 , who's the person in your profile-picture??

Secondly, why are you pushing for burqa even when the Saudis have begun talking about it as a cultural and non-Islami element??

Hassan Al Banna (may Allah have mercy on him), one of the greatest 20th century islamic political thinkers and intellectual who made enormous contribution to post-colonial Islamic revival in the muslim world.

I do not take my religion from Saudi Arabia. Actions of any gov. whether Saudi or burikano faso are NOT hallmark for Islam. Islam is what the Quran and sunnah says and how the companions of the prophet (saw) understood and practiced it. Burqa/Face veil is part and parcel of Islam.

I knew his identity but just wanted you to describe how you see him.

Brother, you describe him as if he was Marx, Lenin, Gaddafi, Che, Castro, Faiz etc.

Hassan al-Banna was a British agent.

The Golden Age of Islam happened because people like al-Banna were kept away, because such people create a repressive atmosphere which is not conducive to intellectual work.

Unfortunately, the format of the Quran lends itself to various interpretations and that is a problem when reactionaries interpret it wrongly.

Burqa/Face veil is part and parcel of Islam.

It is not. It is part of Jewish culture :
An Egyptian lawmaker has said members of parliament are drafting a law that would ban women from wearing the burqa in government institutions after alleging the Islamic full-face veil was a "Jewish tradition".

Amna Nosseir said on Sunday that the proposed ban would be in the best interest of Egyptian society and that she has been battling against the burqa over the past 40 years.

The London-based newspaper Asharq al-Awsat reported on Saturday, citing unnamed sources in parliament, that several lawmakers were working on drafting the burqa ban.
Nosseir, who wears the hijab, said on Wednesday that the burqa - known in Arabic as the niqab - had its origins in Jewish religious law.

"In the Old Testament, you find in chapter 38 that the Jewish religious authorities tell you that if Jewish women leave the house without covering the face and head then they are breaking Jewish religious law," the lawmaker said during an interview with local media.

"I have gathered around 20 texts by Jewish religious authorities that completely forbid women from showing their faces and heads," Nosseir said while discussing also banning female university students from wearing "ripped jeans" in lectures.
She added that this part of Jewish law became entrenched in pre-Islamic Arab tribes of the Arabian Peninsula and then spread throughout the Middle East with the Muslim conquests.

She is very confident and she really impressed me.

Regardless of what my views are regarding niqab, which to me is extreme form of self imposed chastity, I thin she was articulate and argued well.
she just got lucky, that the other person didnt know about the proper injunctions of Islam.
she is like a confident slave, defending her master and saying it is her "right" to be "enslaved"

Do you agree wearing a Niqab is not compulsory?
yup, nothing compulsory about it

Lubna and Wallada would be very disappointed by a question like that

The sister in the video is amazing. She did not restrict her reasoning to cliche liberal points like "freedom and choice" to defend her rights but used common sense arguments and showed a commendable pride and zeal for Islam and love for Allah(swt). She demanded her rights within the danish constitution and legal framework. As we would see, she also got due respect for her position from the host and some danish non-muslim parliamentarians. When you stand up for you values and abide by the truth people will respect you and Allah(swt), the Creator of everything that exists and the Supreme Protector will be your protector.
Don't mind me asking this- but should not she be respectful towards the rules of the land where she resides?
To give you an example, I am ready to wear Burqa if I were to visit Saudi Arabia, that is my way of showing respect towards the land.
God has provided us with everything with which we can survive and thrive on this planet, if he wished that women be shielded with an extra layer of clothing, then he would have given us,the women, an extra layer of skin. But we don't have one.
I hope you got the drift of it.
Anyways I heard Saudia too is gonna lift compulsory ruling over burqa.
My respect to people who respect others.

Regards

Face veil is NOT an obligation but is part and parcel of islam so as a Muslim I should defend the right of my muslim sisters who choose to wear it whether in a muslim or non-muslim country.

In the same breath I will NOT support the supposed right of women to wear anything they want ( eg. revealing obscene dress) in public in Muslim majority countries where there is justifiably a social and in some cases sharia inspired legal red-lines. Those red lines have to be protected in muslim lands.

In non-muslim countries, I have no problem with a live and let live approach since majority there do not believe in islam and have secular constitutions. Muslims should advocate for their due rights under the constitution while doing dawah and spreading the message of islam.

The right to wear the veil - a sign of virtue, dignity and piety do NOT come in conflict with secular constitution of most western countries, rather anti-veil laws and restrictions are at most times in conflict with western human rights and international law concerning the rights of the individual.

Whereas the right to wear anything one likes including overtly revealing obscene clothes comes in conflict with islamic law and divinely granted human rights that sharia advocates and thus in Muslim majority countries there should be some form of a modest dress code (not necessarily niqab) in public space.

In short, their country their rules and our country our rules and veil perfectly fits in both secular and islamic legal contexts.

Yes complete covering of the face is not compulsory but it is part and parcel of Islam and should a muslim women choose to adopt it, she should be commended, praised and defended by her family and community.

That means they are hypocrites and do not even believe in the liberal ideology they themselves advocate. They are not as tolerant as they masquerade to be.

Brother Did you watch the video - a muslim women is justifiably & bravely standing up for her due rights under the Dannish constitution. I am talking about the need for muslims to stand up for their core values and beliefs wherever they may be just as this women is doing.

I just gave the example of beard just as an analogy to show the bravery and struggle of our niqab wearing sisters. Its far more easier to have a beard than wear a niqab in today's context - that was my point. By no means was I deriding my fellow brothers who shave their beards. I apologize if any such vibe is given by my post. Peace.
Let the individual decide how Muslim they wish to be if you think they will to to hell over it its your oroblem not theirs. Their choice to go for a religious or less religious lifestyle or a less religious lifestyle is a choice they alone can and should take abd more countries including KSA are going toward that route you and your lot will be remembered no differently from those who argued the earth was flat centuries ago :D
If I was demanding it in a non Muslim country, yes it would be ridiculous.

But I am demanding it in Pakistan, a state founded on the basis of Islam. So it's not at all ridiculous.
It is that ridiculous imposing your views on other because you think they should act in a certain way is wrong plus there is no nor there should be any compulsion in dress code inside Pakistan

Because they are still Muslim. If they don't like Islam, they shouldn't live in an Islamic republic.
You say that whike residing in? :D

I don't think Niqab is compulsory.. but I think covering ones hair is.. Not sure though.. But this is why most of the women living in Islamic countries wear head covering..

But if a lady wants to hide her face, she should be allowed.. not forced.. but if she is asked to show her face to reveal identity in front of the law, she shouldn't demand that she be allowed to keep her face covered..

I know one incident, in which a lady was caught cheating in Karachi board examinations, when her niqab was removed, a boy came out from inside the abaya lollll.. When the management of the examination asked invigilators why he wasn't caught before entering the examination hall, they said that she (actually he) resisted because there were both male and female invigilators in there..
So is praying 5 times a day does the state force you to pray at gunpoint? No should it for hijab? No
The argument isnt religious but political

Is Mohammad Bin Salman now the new mujaddid of our deen? You are happy with English women wearing short dresses and going out in the Park in their Bikinis and a bra, or a Nun wearing her full head scarf, but do not give a muslim woman the right to wear what she feels comfortable wearing. I would have no problem if a state specified a dress for all to wear and anyone found not wearing the dress should be fined(including taking it off in public). Perhaps email MBS with your suggestion if you have the guts for it.
In the West the problem is on the one hand you have no objection in women taking off their clothes but willify those who keep them on. So first make the nuns wear the prescribed dress then come talk to the Muslim woman. We are either liberal for all or for none.

No, the mujaddid of our times is Muammar Gaddafi, whether or not he is alive.

I never said that the opposite of a burqa or a nun's head cover be bikini and bra in public.

Shalwar suits, saris, pants and skirts can be wearable options.

I am sure he knows a little thing happening in Egypt. Please read in this post of mine.

My Hadi is Mohammad SAW and anyone who follows him. MuammarQaddafi or MBS do not matter to me. Regarding Hassan Al Bannah Rahimahu Allah, you have made a statement. He was a scholar and some of his teachings remained controversial. Our teaching regarding scholars has always been one of learning what is good from them and Ignoring that which we feel uneasy about. I certainly dont havr the knowledge to be able to say he was an agent of this or that. You dont want to stand in front of Allah Subhanahu Wa ta Aalah and answer regarding your slander on a scholar of deen no matter how controversial.
I am not fussed about peoples' dress choices. The point I have repeatedly tried to make giving you diverse parables and you have ignored, is that the West and the world respects choices that people make. As long as the Burqa, Niqaab, jilbaab is an individual's choice it should be respected as much as a Mini skirt or a Nun's apparel. It is simply a matter of individual choice. Why do you or I have to get riled up about it. Live and let live.

Burqa and Veil were golden days of Islamic history..what absurdity...no where did burqa and veil exist other than a practice in personal capacity..Denmark has simply imported the backward agrarian filth in their country which refuses to civilize..

There are many sources saying that Hassan al-Banna was a British agent. You can check for yourself. He was the Osama Bin Laden of those times.

What starts as individual choice and 'live and let live' enlarges into social pressure and increased presence of reactionary elements.

The below picture I believe was released by the Syrian government to warn against what the so-called Free Syrian Army wanted for Syria :
