What's new

This is now Earth's largest ship—so big it can lift oil rigs off the sea

Notice how once the British were our overlords... now our lackeys. And yes I realize the source of the photo I posted is a cynical website and is poking fun at the US. Still, it's quite accurate.

I admire both the British Empire and the American Global Influence. I won't refer to the United States as an Empire but has immeasurable global clout that many states can only dream of having or acquiring. The United States is, honestly, blessed by its geographic location, isolated from many hostile neighbors and practically master of both the Atlantic and the Pacific.

From Pax Britannica to Pax Americana. :)

True, true. We may not be an empire in the traditional sense of the word. But our political clout, cultural saturation of even the most hostile of markets (I'm looking at you Russia), our economic prowess (long-live the recovery) and our military that can make even the most stubborn of nations listen to us; that makes us an empire. When the US roars, nations stand up and listen. Out of respect or out of fear or looking to receive some benefits, the reasons don't matter. The US has more influence than any other nation on Earth and this fact isn't looking too likely to change. China has a growing military, nations are coming to resent it. China has a growing economy, nations want to be part of it, China's becoming more politically involved, nations are ignoring it, China is growing culturally, but US culture grows too, even in China.

We know very well the awesome power of the United States. The very nation that broke the Great Empire of Japan.

Your naval power, air power, and shear strategic visage (island hopping strategy) was unheard of , and re-wrote amphibious expeditionary warfare forever. The launching of Operation Overlord (D-DAY invasion) and Operation Musketeer I,II, III (The Philippine Campaign; Battle of Leyte Gulf) were both the largest amphibious and naval operations in human history. Ever.

In the beginning of the war, The Imperial Japanese Navy was the 2nd largest naval power in the world. Over 11 aircraft carriers, dozens of battleships, hundreds of destroyers, cruisers, submarines, over 5 million man army spread across the Empire. By the end of the Pacific War, your nation had sunk most of the Battle Fleets of the Imperial Navy; resting in the bottom of the Pacific.

No nation had effected such severe defeat to us....

But we're more than just a military power. Granted Japan's soft-power is awe inspiring. I'm in my late twenties and still play Pokemon, watch anime, and favor traditional (not Americanized) Japanese foods. Japanese soft-power is a great rival and just as widespread as is the US's. We still have you beat in most other aspects though

In a different time, my friend, both our nations were enemies, greatest rivals for the mastery and dominion of the Pacific. But now, in this epoch, we have become allies, friends. The United States re-introduced to Japan the parliamentary democracy that had been lost in the 1920s. Its almost ironic. That it was the United States that (Commodore Perry) that opened Japan to the west and to industrialization. Humbling that it was the United States (after the war) that had been a noble entity to help rebuild a war torn Japan, and re-cultivate our democratic establishment, which was once lost, muted. Japan's technological breakthrough during the 1960s, to 1990s, and the enshrining of the Rule of Law, Democracy that is alive in Japan to this day. All of this was because of the United States.

Woah, if SK ever gains naval control over NK, imagine how many troops this monster can land.

Yes you speak our language English, even though you made some little changes here and there, but its still English, reason why a british person still understands an american when he speaks. Same with China and Taiwan, they still understand each other even though the Madarin they speak is relatively different(minor changes), this doesnt means China is not Taiwan's mother.

So same applies to us and You.:D Moreover as i said we colonized and civilized you, just like we did with our colonies from Australia to Canada to Africa to India. Britain contributed to spreading English and making the world come closer to what we now know today.:enjoy: Theres no denying that. You are still our child, once a child always a child, doesnt matter how big you grow. a mothers baby will always remain a mother baby.:D:P
This was completely not needed. Civilized? Some of the territories that were under British empire have a documented history that spans more than 2500 years. It was all territorial expansion and noting else. Sure, the industrial revolution and globalisation changed the world but saying that you "civilized" some other nations is just completely not needed.

We are not a U.S(52nd) state man.:close_tema: Remember we were the ones who colonised/civilized you and taught you how to read/write and speak. you still speak our language by the way.:D
:P

Britain is a crumbling cesspit. You have nothing besides immigrants, football hooligans, and obese people who live on social welfare. I hope to see Britain pay the ultimate price for its centuries of crimes in the world, and that is an American takeover.

Immigrants will take over that. The ISI is planning to change the demographics of Britain, so in the future, we the Pakistanis and our fellow Bengalis will have taken the UK for our own.
