Drug problem is getting worse, lots of homeless people are hard core drug addicts, its not like Govt is not doing anything for them. Some people are just beyond help and won't stay in shelters, similar to that some people just want to steal and get themselves involved in crimes rather than getting a job, If an immigrant from 3rd World country who comes with no money or anything can not only survive, but make good and decent living than these locals too.

There are many personal observations but I will relate only one latest one here: Wife's brother's wife--lets' calls her 'Bhabhi', who is fairly young, in her early 50s and healthy, was refusing her own mother (late 60s) to be accommodated to the Bhabhi house as the mother was dying of cancer. Well, the mother died 4-5 days ago after refusing more painful treatments. And I imagine the Bhabhi is 'relieved'.
I know of many such instances of the breakdown in society and I am afraid I maybe changing myself.

Chinese people often talk about Homelessness and infrastructure of US which is indeed true, but at the same time USA is still progressing. People who are addicts many of them just refused to accept help, I do agree that failing family structure is a cause of societal decline but the US society evolved and is evolving they are not going to need Traditional Family to begin with. Their culture/society has no issue with men/women sleeping together before marriage or any serious relationship, they have no issue with having kids without marriage, these kids grow in a house where their parents are not married, many of them raise by step parents, and than they grow up and their expenses are not met so they start earning money by taking small jobs, so when parents wants their kids to move out as soon as they are independent so the kids grow up and they build their own lives and later they don't want anyone interfering their lives even if it means bringing their parents home.

I have seen a rise in Black young boys/girls robbing luxury brands stores in broad day light, they are going in numbers to just steal from stores and walk out without any consequences, its not that only Blacks are doing that so are white druggies etc but its disproportionately committing more crimes, and the worse part is that i saw videos of mothers who are taking their kids into stores like Walmart and encouraging them to steal or shoplift, rather than teaching them not to steal and be a good citizen they are doing the opposite. American youth is depressed, stressed and going crazy (no offense to any young people from America) they are becoming alcoholics and druggies at faster rate, and they ruin their lives and end up streets which cause homelessness and filthy streets with poop/needles on the streets everywhere.

All in All the point is that Govt can only help those who help themselves, Govt can of course do better job and find more funds or whatever is required but Govt alone can not fix this issue, it has to be the combine effort from Govt and people themselves.

Many of these people she refused care. Many with mental health and/or substance abuse issues.

Driving around filming homeless and following news about homeless people at least shows that America discusses its problem and when politicians actually do their jobs, sometimes things happen.

If they wanted real news they could have followed the hospital dumping stories and the outrage by the public. But then they would have to report the nuance of the cars and that people wronged by the hospitals getting large payments by the Justice system (eventually).

We really need more public shelters and cheaper public housing so poor people have a place to go. No one should be treated the way they were in the videos, but some of these hospitals aren’t run by the smartest people.

You've watched the first and second Robocop movie? Back then in the 80's and 90's they predicted the future of the so called "United States of America" mutating into a Corporatocracy. With a rich elite working directly (employes) or indirectly (politicians etc.) for few huge corporations. In the movies it is even more extreme, you have one single corporation called OCP controlling everything.

And the rest ist poor and have constantly to fight against each other, with crime and drugs literally everywhere. And the police is nothing more than cannon fodder for "The Corporation". And there is per se no peaceful solution for this problem, only a bloody civil war and this would be end for the United States in the current shape. The longer they wait, the bloodier the conflict will be, because the tensions are accumulating.

It's useless for you to have a place to go when you won't go. The issue here is not whether you have a place for these people to stay, the issue here is whether these people go to those places.

I personally know a guy I served with, he gone down badly after his second deployment. And he simply disappeared after he got out. A couple guys from our unit trying to find him and help him after we heard that his wife kicked him out of the house. And we literally found him under a bridge on one of those interstate overpass. Turns out he got hooked on Oxy and then the guy supplying him that get him hook on Meth and Opiate. We drove his pass out a$$ to one of those clean house (the get clean) ran by those veteran charity, hoping that he would be staying there and get clean up, but what happened was, over the next year, he left and we would find him on the same spot, then drove him back to that place to get clean only for him to leave again, and after doing that for 10 or 12th time, you sort of just give up on him, I don't even know what happened to him to this day.

Problem with addicted to drug is that you are constantly having to battle your own mind, and you are going to lose every time when you are awake, because as long as you live, your mind owns you, that's how human works. So every time he told us he is alright and the next week he would have been going back to that bridge again to get high because he lost his battle with his mind, and nobody can be your keeper but you. And I know this firsthand as I myself also got hooked on Oxy after I was wounded and got out, it's lucky that someone help me when it was still manageable, because you are literally gone once that go out of hand.

Drug is a world-wide problem, not just in America, these Chinese PDFer would have you believe this only happens in US. And China don't have those problem because they won't post it online.

Even Chinese government own estimation see more than a million drug user in China.

And that is murky at best if you believe those number are correct. And you can't expect only those rich and famous got hook onto drug. So whatever is happening in the US (the video you saw here) most likely also happen in China.

Government response is one thing, but at the end of the day, you need to know how to help people with drug problems. That is not something the government can do. As that start with the drug user him/herself
