What's new

Thirteen districts in eight provinces in the south, north and central area of Afghanistan have fallen to the Taliban in the Last 24 Hours: TOLO News

This up to the Afghans. From the looks of it many are siding with the Taliban. They have no confidence in the Bonn framework government or the old warlords.

Only Pathans. Pakis keep ignoring the minority groups which comprise almost 50% of the nation at their own expense and letting the one group most interested in their demise dictate who should run Afghanistan.

christ on a pogo stick all those deaths & suffering for nothing. If the taliban march into kabul Pakistan better prepare for a floodgate of refugees that will inevitably come.

That’s what all the regional countries are try to avoid.

Recent visit of the President of Tajikistan, Talking to the Turkey about the safety of the Turkic peoples in Northern Afghanistan, and dialogue with Iran and Russia. Pakistan doesn’t seem to be ignoring the other ethnicities, just trying to find a rapprochement that works to meet all its interests without antagonizing Pathans not hostile to it. Considering there was never a point in history this existed, it’s a challenge to figure out how to achieve this balance. That’s why it looks so messy and clumsy.

Again this is up to the Afghans. Taliban ideology has no ethnicity. They will back the MENA bloc. There is no division between Muslims.

Taliban ideology has no ethnicity.

It does lol. It's predominantly Pathan. There are a few minorities among them, but the leadership is entirely Pathan. The regions they control are predominantly Pathan. Even the regions they are encroaching, such as Kunduz, are often taken over because of Pathan migrants and settlers who are willing collaborators.

Iranian supplied Manpad against the ANA chopper. If the Iranians are backing them, then considering what has been given to the Houthis could end up also in Afghanistan.
This is the first time I heard this, do you have any credible source for this claim ?

Since at least 2007, Iran has provided calibrated support—including weapons, training, and funding—to the Taliban to counter U.S. and Western influence in Afghanistan, combat ISIS-Khorasan, and increase Tehran’s influence in any post-rec - onciliation government. Iran balances this support as part of its dual-track strategy for engaging both local groups and the Afghan government in Kabul to achieve its broader security goals. Tehran does not seek to return the Taliban to power but aims to maintain influence with the group as a hedge in the event that the Taliban gains a role in a future Afghan government.

ANA should at least pretend to fight, Americans haven't even left and they are surrendering in masses, were they waiting?

This is bad for pakistan too. Haqeeqat TV an other goos like sabir Shakir, oriya and osama ghazi have painted taliban as some sort of hero an Islamic warrior. Whereas they are nothing but jangli nanthradrals.
Their version of Islam and their stupid customs should never be allowed in pakistan. Their fan boys needs to be kept in check in pakistan.
They have not changed. Their ways are more cruel now. Jahalat is rampant.
At least Iran and Saudi Arabia are normal states. Talban version make saudia Arabia and Iran look like secular state.
The world ould blame their actions on pakistan sadly. Close the border
Man it. Send additional 1 lakh pak army troops. And now send all taliban leaders back because they now hold territory in Afghanistan
Just can't agree more with your comment!

Correct.

Taliban are not islamic. They are amalgamation of backward pashtun culture intermixed with extreme Jahalat.

Pakistanis who are rooting for Taliban wouldn't want to live under their rule. When the war ends, throw back all taliban leaders with rest of Afghan refugees and seal the border. Better yet create a Pakistani version of CBP for border management.

Taliban is Pathan.. Few or token non-pathans doesn't mean shit.

Pakistan's support of the Taliban isn't because Pakistan wants to create the ideal state in Afghanistan and this is the best way we think it can happen.

Pakistan is simply working with the available options and limitations. The Taliban aren't a choice amongst other better choices, they are the only practical option. The Afghan military isn't surrendering because Pakistan is bribing them to make Taliban look good. It's happening because Taliban are the defacto winners of the two decade long war.

The talibs are winning despite the US trying for two decades to make it otherwise. The US has tried every other combination of local powers and groups to see which sticks and failed in all.

I don't know what Pakistan is supposed to do now to prevent the Taliban from coming to power that could be meaningful.

Taliban are looking like an inevitability for a reason.

As for Pakistan, we know well what the alternative to the Taliban are capable of and what their intention is towards us. Taliban are relatively pro Pakistan vs these ANA guys (and remember these are the one's being replaced not some ultra modern utopian government).

These northern alliance people have both openly and covertly worked with India to hurt Pakistan. Why are people forgetting the alternative here.

Pakistan is supporting Taliban because they are the defacto victors and the only pro Pakistan player with any chance. The others are working for other players, and Pakistan has seen what it's like to have openly antipakistan government in Afghanistan.

Its allegations made by the Afghan sources, and they have not show fragments of the missile, but ...

Can you stop insulting Pashtun culture please. Where are you from and what qualifies you to judge Pashtun culture? Yes, there are elements of Pashtun culture which are different than others and might seem strange but there are historical reasons for they way some cultures evolved. To Pashtuns, elements of your culture might be backward and vulgar.
